Cosy Cliff View Chalet overlooking Whitsand bay
Cliff View is wooden chalet, with rustic charm, nestled on the breathtaking cliffs of Whitsandbay. Aside from the beautiful rugged cliffside, the main attraction here is the stunning sandy beach which stretches on for miles. The area is suitable for nature lovers, beach goers, walkers, surfers and those who want to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace of life. You can do as little or as much as you like, just enjoying the natural beauty of the bay or visiting local places of interest. Cliff View is perfect for couples or a small family wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The chalet itself sleeps 4, with 1 spacious double bedroom, a living room with a double sofa bed and a mezzanine space with a double bed. The mezzanine is a cosy area and a firm favourite with younger guests. Its accessed by a wooden ladder from the living room, as seen on the photos so must be carefully supervised and we suggest its not suitable for children under 10. My grandparents bought the chalet in the early 60's so it is filled with decades of happy memories and love. I have been lucky enough to make the chalet my home for over 13years and now feel its time to share this unique retreat. we have tried to keep the retro feel of the chalet and have retained many of the original features have a spacious bedroom with french doors opening out to the garden and spectacular views of the iconic headland of Rame Head. The garden is a wildlife friendly space with swaths of wildflowers and coastal plants with regular visits from hedgehogs, various birds and pond life. There are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the sea views, read a book, enjoy eating alfresco or taking in the beautiful sunsets. The chalet has a light and airy feel with a open plan living room and dining area, a 1940s style galley kitchen,[please note there is no hot water supply to the kitchen sink, we use the kettle for washing up etc] and a toilet and shower room [with an electric shower, no sink].For chilly evenings we have wood burning stove to cosy up by and enjoy the sunset views. The night time sky here is breath taking with very little light pollution and the flashes out to sea from the iconic Eddystone lighthouse. The chalet is nestled on a cliff and is accessed by a sloped path down from the road. Parking is a few minutes walk to the top of the cliff. It is public parking and free, but can get busy at peek times. We are next to the main path down to the golden sands of Whitsand bay. This is our home which we will be vacating for the summer for guests. we will be available for you to contact, but you will have complete privacy during your stay. We are situated close to the friendly cliff top cafe and various pubs and restaurants in the picturesque fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. There are also plenty of shops for supplies in the nearby village of Millbrook. For those who enjoy walking we are on the coastal path with miles of beautiful coastline to explore just oustside the front door. The area is popular with surfers and surf lessons and equipment are available from Adventure Bay. Paddle boards and kayaks are also availble here and in the tranquil waters of Cawsand. The beautiful estates of Mount Edgecumbe and Antony are close by A little further a field are the famous Eden project, The lost gardens of Heligan, the fishing town of Looe and Plymouth is only a short ferry ride away.. amazingly despite our rural location we have a good bus service with stunning views. There is a regular service to local villages and to Plymouth. The local foot ferries are a great experience with a service from Cremyl and cawsand. Or the car ferry from torpoint. if travelling by train our nearest stations are at st Germans or Plymouth. We don't own a car and find it very easy to get around by foot or bicycle.
