Houseboat on the River

Don't miss this absolutely unique place to stay in Gothenburg. An over 100 years old tug boat from 1911 which has been carefully converted into a beautiful modern home. You have the river Göta Älv right outside the window and a cozy interior with a fireplace and amazing woodwork. In summer you can aslo enjoy the artsy garden and the roof terrace, the brave ones might even take a swim in the river. Good fishing is possible straight from the boat. Free parking outside. When you rent this place you get access to both the garden with a cozy wooden deck, perfect for yoga or sunset picknicks, and also of course the boat with a living space divided on two floors. The boat has a sunny terrace with a beautiful view to the Gota River. A great place for both breakfast and dinner. You will be a little apart from the city centre and close to it at the same time. Onboard you will find a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful dining area with windows to the river. Here we love to sit a watch all the different birds and ducks play around as we enjoy our breakfast. There are two comfortable double beds, one downstairs in a separate bedroom and one upstairs in the combined living and bedroom. Upstairs in the living room you will also find the cozy fireplace where we think you will love to enjoy your evenings. The living room is also equipped with a high quality bluetooth speaker so that you can enjoy your favorite music during you stay. You will have the whole boat for yourself. The garden is shared with my friend and neighbour who is renting the caravan there at the moment. I will be available on the phone to answear any questions. You can also talk to my friend and neighbour who lives in his mobile home in th garden. Sometimes I will also stay with my friend in his mobile home. The quay where the the boat lies is one of the old central harbours in Gothenburg, known to locals as "Quay of Dreams" - "Drömmarnas Kaj" in Swedish. The neighbourhood consists of an association for old ships and houseboats. It is well known for its street art and graffitti scene, with murals from both local and international artists. The garden is shared with a friend who has got his caravan there. I sometimes live in the caravan when the boat is rented out. PLEASE NOTE: the boat has a central location, but the area is an industrial-area. There are no shops or café’s on the street outside the boat. You need to walk about 20 min along the water to get some city-life. There is a bus stop 100 meters from the boat with buses running Monday-Friday. Distance according to the GPS: Central station: 1,8 km Gothenburg Opera: 1,9km Kungsportsplatsen/Avenyn: 2,5km Ullevi: 2,8km Linnéplatsen: 4,3km Staying on a boat is different from staying in an apartment. Normally it is very quiet, but the boat might rock a little and make some noise if it is windy outside and waves on the river. We consider the boat family friendly, it has safe, secure railing all around. But remember -it is a boat, so if you have children you have to be careful. Tap water is good for rinsing fruit and vegetables och washing up. Drinking water is in a separate container. As you might have noticed, there is no wifi on the boat.
