You can enjoy a refreshing night's sleep in 100% cotton white linen, of high thread-count, on a quality Feather and Black bed with luxurious King-size Vispring mattress. There's a generous supply of shortbread, biscuits as well as coffee and tea (including herbal options), milk, sugar, and hot chocolate sachets in this King room. There's a small fridge if you would like to keep snacks or drinks cool. Offering free use of wireless internet, a wide range of TV and radio channels (Freeview), Bluetooth sound systems, and complimentary coffee, teas, and biscuits, this King bedroom is a restful haven for weekend breaks as well as for tourism or business travel during the week. In the bathroom (for your own use, not shared with the host) there’s a combination bath / shower. Your room comes with high-quality cotton towels and bath mat as well as complimentary soaps and toiletries . Just in case you would like to do a bit of ironing on your packed clothes, there's also an iron and ironing board discretely stored beside the wardrobe in the King bedroom. GUEST ACCESS An external door key is provided for guest access, via main entrance hall, to the King bedroom and the bathroom. An internal door key is also provided for the King bedroom. Please note that other parts of the house (including kitchen) are not accessible to guests. OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE Very well connected by train lines and by roads, from here it’s possible to explore many of the most interesting places in the Southwest including Bath (11 miles), Bradford-on-Avon (3 miles), Frome (9 miles), and Lacock Abbey (12 miles). Within easy driving distance from Trowbridge are many scenic walking trails and beautiful historic sites. These include Great Chalfield Manor, Iford Manor, Westwood Manor, The Courts Garden, and the ‘White Horse’ hill figure near Westbury on the edge of Salisbury Plain (all within 20 minute drives). A bit further afield across Salisbury Plain are the world-famous stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge (both about 40 minutes away by car) and the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury (about 50 minutes by car, 45 minutes by train). Please also note the following: You'll need to climb stairs, as the King bedroom is up one flight of stairs. Free on-street parking is available on the road where the property is located and other roads nearby (no permits or parking fees required in the area). Although the host likes guests to relax and have a good break, it’s important for everyone to agree to our house rules. Noise is to be kept to a minimum after 11 pm, so that all can enjoy a good night’s sleep. The host does not keep or allow pets, so this is a perfect place for anyone who suffers from animal allergies. Strictly no smoking or vaping anywhere within the house or garden. Guests are not permitted to use candles or any type of lighter within the house or garden premises. Please note that an extra cleaning charge of £30 is payable if any guest violates the strict rules on no-smoking and no-vaping and no candles anywhere on the premises. Also note: Airbnb guests are strictly not allowed to have post sent to this address. A cleaning fee (£16) is charged as standard at booking, to cover normal laundry and changeover costs. This standard cleaning fee does not cover any extraordinary damage that could arise, which would be payable by guests. Trowbridge is the county town of Wiltshire with a rich history from the signing of the Magna Carta through the height of weaving / textile industry. This B&B is located in a quiet, tree-lined residential street of the historic conservation area ’Newtown’ and the surrounding neighbourhood consists mainly of early- to late-Victorian houses. Its location is a short walk to / from the train station, which (as explained below) is very well connected by train services to Bath and many other interesting places. Offices and institutions within easy walking distance include: Wiltshire County Hall, Trowbridge Civic Centre, St John of Gaunt School, Wiltshire Rural Music School, St Augustine’s Catholic College, and Trowbridge Museum. Just around the corner is a neighbourhood shop / news agent and there are many opportunities for all types of shopping a bit further on in The Shires mall (10 minute walk) and lots of entertainment options (cinema, restaurants) to enjoy at St Stephens Place (15 minute walk). If you would like more information about a wide range of restaurants, inns and pubs within walking or easy driving distances, there's a list available in the room. Whether you like to relax in 16th- or 18-century inns, chain restaurants, or gastropubs, there's quite a lot to choose from. It’s easy to get around Trowbridge on foot, and all central points of interest are within easy walking distance. With a short (about 8 minute) walk to the train station, it’s also easy to get trains to and from nearby places (including Bradford-on-Avon, Bath, Westbury, Bruton, Frome, Salisbury) without a car. Train services from this station are very frequent during the week (for example, up to four trains an hour to Bradford-on-Avon. Bath, and Bristol) and services running on the weekend are also very good, with many convenient direct services. If you have a car, then of course it’s easy driving to nearby towns and villages — many with excellent pubs for drinks and food. The hosts are happy to give recommendations. Taxis are also available and can be booked in advance or found at taxi ranks at the train station and in town centre.
