This quiet, private retreat with sweeping views on 48 acres in Mendocino county's wine country offers the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy nature. This private retreat on 48 acres of mostly oak woodland in Mendocino county's wine country has sweeping views of distant mountains, hills, and vineyard. Surrounding decks and terraced areas lead to the salt-water pool and many places to relax, hear birds, and see wildlife. This serene oasis off a private road has green hills, wildflowers, and mild weather in spring*, swimming in a very private pool in summer and early fall, wine tasting and cozy fires in fireplace and fire pit**, and water in the seasonal creeks after it rains in winter. *usually **the fireplace, fire pit and BBQ are not available in summer and fall months due to fire danger. The above may be available in winter and spring when there is sufficient dampness. Please ask. Amenities include: Two master bedrooms with queen-size beds Two bathrooms, walk-in tiled showers, 1 bathtub Fully equipped kitchen Dining and living room open to kitchen Loft area sitting room with daybed WiFi, stereo, DVD player, cable TV Washer/dryer (and clothesline) Linens, bath and swim towels Salt-water pool (no lifeguard) No chemical pesticides used outdoors, no chemical cleaning products used indoors 2 - Night Minimum 3 - Night Minimum Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter Winter Rates -- October 15 - May 25 excluding holidays $300 per day Monthly Rates -- 27 days maximum with 2 cleaning fees. House will be cleaned every 2 weeks. As guests you have sole use of the house and its 48 acres. Some parts of the property are quite steep and unsuitable for walking. Please use the road beyond the electronic gate only as far as it leads to the house as the ranch roads beyond the driveway are privately owned. Minimal contact during your stay, but guests will always be greeted by owner or family member who is available by phone to answer questions or assist with household needs. Quiet and private country setting on former ranch with electronic gate. Downtown Ukiah is approximately 12 minutes away by car. Must have a car, but 4-wheel drive is unnecessary. Driveway is a country gravel road approximately a quarter mile from the electronic gate at the main road. The Ukiah business district is approximately five miles away. Public transportation is about 3 miles away but walking to the bus stop is unsafe due to narrow roads. This house is in the country. While a large area beyond house and pool is fenced please be aware of wildlife as you would when camping. Pool light, outdoor light, and flashlight recommended when going for a night swim or other outdoor areas after the sun goes down. Please be sure all food eaten outside comes inside at night so our animal friends are not tempted by human food :) The pool is heated by the sun only - wonderfully refreshing on a hot day, and there are many in summer - but chilly when the air is cool outside. We are on a septic system. Please flush only toilet paper and keep food from kitchen drain. Please be sure all windows are closed when heat or air conditioning are in use. Please turn heat or airconditioning off when you leave the house. Thank you!
