This cosy cottage is located in a bucolic setting surrounded by gardens. Within an easy commute to several urban areas offering cultural attractions and quaint small towns offering local color. Starry nights and natural wildlife abounds. A 576 square foot cottage with a spacious bedroom with queen size bed and a private deck. Living, dining and kitchen area with satellite TV and wireless internet. Kitchen is small but well equipped The bathroom has a shower and there is a small utility area with washer and dryer. Guests have access to all garden areas and decks and well as the open pastures and woods that surround the cottage. Located on 35 acres with ample open space and walking trails. Guests will have access to all garden, deck and other outdoor areas and full private use of the cottage. Owners live in main house attached to cottage by a covered breezeway. Interaction is welcome but your privacy is assured. The farm is located in a close knit farming community in rural Chatham County where small farms and forest lands offer beautiful scenery, fresh air and serenity. In fact the old time name for this neighborhood is Big Meadows and was historically settled by Quaker dairy farmers. The property owners are avid gardeners and tend large ornamental and vegetable gardens. A pasture with 2 horses adds to the rural ambiance. Country roads offer a 30 minute drive to Chapel hill, 1 hour to Durham, Greensboro or Raleigh and 15 minutes to historic Pittsboro or Saxapahaw. The area is home to universities, museums, public gardens, good restaurants, music venues and unique shopping offering visitors a diverse selection of attractions. The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival is held every spring and fall just 5 miles away in Silk Hope. There is no public transit, a car will be necessary. Parking is ample and getting around is easy on secondary roads. Pasture accommodations for horses can be provided should you be traveling with one or two. We regret that we cannot accommodate dogs in the cottage. We have 2 and our male does not play well with others.
