This bungalow was the first residence to be built on the Dunes at Hellyer Beach. Set among the natural coastal vegetation some twenty-five metres from the beautiful and expansive Hellyer beach. It has a view to the North West of the volcanic core that is the Stanley Nut, and to the North East of the spectacular Rocky Cape Peninsular; it commands one of the best 180 degree views anywhere along the dunes. Close by natural attractions include the Dip Falls, Dismal Swamp, and the Trowutta Arch. Marrawah is at the centre of West Coast attractions including the Arthur River Nature Reserve and an Arthur River Cruise. These, along with, visiting the Edge of the World and driving the Road to Nowhere are all great day trips. A five-minute drive East from Hellyer is the Rocky Cape National Park with its Aboriginal history, and for those who feel energetic, there is a 16km walk following the coast to Sisters Beach. You will need to arrange a car at Sisters Beach to bring you home. A little further east, around Table Cape in the Spring, fields of tulips are a stunning visual experience. Visiting Cradle Mountain for a day is an opportunity for another spectacular Tasmanian wilderness experience. Wynyard, Stanley, and Smithton are twenty-five minute drives and provide a full range of facilities including an airport at Wynyard. Close by there is easy access to fuel and basic food requirements at Detention River & Rocky Cape Roadhouses. There is an excellent bistro at the Rocky Cape Tavern. A wood heater with a supply of good wood, is provided for cooler days or cosy evenings.
