We are 2.3 km from the railway and the bus station and 1 km from the lake and the temple of the sacred tooth. Free wifi and breakfast. Lady Gordon's Homestay is a Homestay bed and breakfast. Our location is close to the city and 1km from the Kandy lake. We could arrange Air port drops. Local tours to places of interest such as The Botanical Gardens,Hantane Tea museum, too could be arranged The Udawatte Kele forest reserve is 10 minutes walk or 200 meters from our Home stay. Guests could go for morning or evening walks in this nature sanctuary. A special tour could be arranged to visit several temples such as Lankatilaka,Gadaladeniya,Embakka and Degaldoruwa built by Kings of Kandy in the 13th century. These temples has distinct local Architectural qualities and typical local village surroundings. Tours could be arranged to Pinnawela elephant village and to Dambulla and Sigiriya rock fortress. Our home is open for guests.Guests have a separate sitting area annexed to the room and a private sit out if they prefer to be in private and enjoy being out side the room. We are available to help you all the way arranging tours of local places and give useful tips . We would like to make you very comfortable and safe.Make your stay with us memorable. We are very close to the city center and on a higher elevation than the city. Please note that we are located in a urban neighborhood. Public transport is about 200m away. All the important locations such as the Temple of the sacred tooth,Shopping malls,restaurants,pubs,museums are easily accessible by walking or the tuk tuk hire will be around 150.00. The tuk tuk hire from the railway station is Rs 300.00. The famed "Udawatte Kele" tropical forest is close by and you could go for morning or evening walks.There are many small animals like Deer,Mongoose,Monkeys,wild Boer local water monitors and plenty of birds.There are two monasteries and many nature trails. A visit to pepper plantation could be arranged to witness first hand how pepper,coffee and cocoa is grown and processed at no extra cost.
