Watermill cottages on River Seugne, Pons,cottage 2

The Moulin Chaillou and its gites/cottages are located on the banks of the River Seugne, in the centre of the beautiful medieval town of Pons in the Charente Maritime. It is a calm and peaceful river fronted property but within 25 minutes of the south west coast of France, and 20 minutes from Saintes and Cognac. The property boasts 7 small islands, private access & only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. We are family friendly, & offer a wide range of toys, games,& baby/child equipment. Our watermill and gites are situated on the largest of 7 small private interconnecting islands on the River Seugne. Each gite/cottage is private and self contained with private decking/entrance and parking. All the islands are private and easily accessible, providing picturesque river walks and a 3 minute stroll to a wonderful bakery, under a shaded fig tree, across an ancient stone bridge. There is a spacious hangar with gym, basketball, washing machine, large box freezer and drier, bicycles and beach equipment. We are always happy to help with any queries or tourist information. Many of our previous gite guests are now frequent visitors and we are very relaxed and sociable people, happy to help and be on hand. We have lived in pons for over 12 years. We really enjoy the town place with its two lovely bar/restaurants and the beautiful and picturesque gardens and park of the donjon and town hall and Mairie. We are 5 mins walk from the local Intermarche and four minutes drive from the large Leclerc and it's additional shops/bars and orher facilities etc. We are only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town too. And with the islands and the river around our property, we have the best of both worlds.....tranquility and accessibility. When we bought our property we loved the fact that it was 5 minutes walk from the centre of beautiful pons but that it was so secluded and private. When you stay with us you feel you are deep in the countryside without the problem of having to always go everywhere by car. The little islands provide tranquility and beauty and privacy. There are many cycle routes and the river frontage provides a chance to fish, kayak or go for a boat ride. You need to relax when you are here, knowing we are available to help and give advise. We have three animated but we'll behaved children, so we understand fully how to offer the best facilities for a children friendly holiday.
