Futuroscope is one of the best loved leisure parks in France and unique in Europe.3D rides with 4D effects, games , live shows ,open air activities and a spectacular nightly light show. Angouleme is the capital of the Charente. There is a 12th century Cathedral and the National Historic Hotel de Ville dates back to the 13th century. The city has a lively nightlife thanks to its many bars, cafes and restaurants. It is famous for its international festivals and the Circuit des Ramparts ,a classic car street race around the narrow winding streets. Cognac is world famous and the big Cognac houses, Courvoisier, Hennessy, Martell, Otard and Remy Martin all offer guided tours. Confolens hosts a folk dancing festival for troupes from all over the world. Beautiful villages such as Verteuil- sur- Charente with it's magnificent Chateau and Nanteuil-en-Vallee are nearby. There is a manmade beach and lake in Villefagnan. La Vallee des Singes .Monkey park is a popular tourist attraction. Canoeing and Kayaking is available at the Rejallant near Ruffec Courtyard setting. Lots of outdoor space, including large swimming pool for the use of all guests. Outdoor table and chairs and BBQ is included. Owners live on site and are available for any help and advice. Nearest train station is Ruffec, 10 minutes away. No public transport. Bus service available in bigger towns such as Poitiers and Angouleme, both 55 minutes away.
