Beautiful annexe to historic grade 2-listed property. Tastefully decorated, with a stunning bedroom and bath/ shower room, commanding views across a lovely garden. Downstairs, the hall leads into a fully equipped kitchen and the living/ dining room, with patio doors that open out onto a pebbled seating area. Ideally located, with a gentle stroll down to Coniston Water and a bridle path above leading to the fells and Coniston Old Man. Half a mile from the village and opposite the Ship Inn. As described above. Although the property has the pub to the rear you will struggle to hear any noise. Noises you will hear, especially in the summer, are birdsong, at dawn and dusk. Through the day you can also watch them at the feeders that sit in front of the patio. We also have a friendly cat called Alfie, who more than likely will pay you a visit during your stay! The annexe is in quiet seclusion, 75 yards from the road, through the garden. Getting around the neighbourhood is easy on foot. The old railway line above the property takes you to the village, as of course does the road. Walking round the lake to Brantwood takes around 1.5 hours and the Coniston launch can bring you back from the Brantwood jetty in 10 minutes. The A593 connects you to Ambleside and Broughton-in-Furness, which is a lovely little market town. Ulverston (Stan Laurel’s birthplace) is also lovely, and worth a visit. We are generally around. If we are away we will let you know, and can always be contacted by text. Coniston Water is one of, if not the, loveliest lake in the Lake District. A drive or walk along the East Lake road in the Spring and Summer will prove it, with the wild garlic, bluebells and beech trees in full bloom.
