This turn of the century cottage is located on a 130 acre property, and is stocked with linens. Three and a half baths, three full bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, screened porches, a deck, washer dryer, and pool privileges with permission only. The house is across the brook and up a stone staircase (30 steps) from the parking area. We can make the option available to unload your baggage on the driveway to the main house in order to circumvent the steps (details available). You will be just across the street from the Ashintully Gardens of 150 acres and McLennon Reservation of 450 acres. Near Tyringham Cobble, state forests (Beartown and October Mountain) and the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, and Kripalu. Visit the Bidwell house, Naumkeg, Mission House, Shaker Village, Norman Rockwell Museum, or one of many other sites right in the neighborhood. Over 100 restaurants in Great Barrington alone. Farm stands and shopping (i.e Berkshire Co-Op and Guido's Market) close by if you want to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Great place for nature lovers, music lovers, foodies, sightseeing aficionados, hunters, or someone looking for peace and quiet and a nice place to sit. The master bedroom is nice and airy, the second bedroom is slightly smaller but gets good light, the third bedroom is on the lower level and was just redone with new paint, carpet, and bathroom fixtures. Kitchen is 10'x20' including breakfast seating area Dining room is 10'x15' and seats 6 comfortably The living room is the largest room in the house and connects to a front door foyer. Master bedroom is 14'x20' which feels quite large, there is a king sized bed. Second bedroom is 10'x12' and the bed is 52"x75" (full) Third bedroom is 10'x14' and the floor plan has some odd shapes, but it is easy to get around in. (Queen bed) We will met you on the property and show you where everything is and how to get around, before leaving you to enjoy the place. The driveway to the main house circumvents the 30 stone steps up from Main Road, and you can park very close to the cottage for loading and unloading. The house is great, but what is outside your door is magical. Tyringham Valley is one of the most scenic places I have ever seen. You are only steps away from Ashintully Gardens in Tyringham, a TToR property with a blend of majestic manicured beauty and spectacular wild forested mountain side land. Hikes of McLennon Reservation available are accessible by foot from the house. We can lead guided hikes of the area, also guided cycling tours, adventure riding, backcountry adventures and more. The house is located 1 mile from Appalachian Trail, and the town swimming pond. We can suggest hikes, cycling routes, swimming holes, or walks and will share our many guide books and maps here. In winter, ski Otis Ridge, Butternut, Jiminy Peak, Catamount, or Bosquet, or enjoy ample snowshoe and XC terrain surrounding house.
