Buried deep in the mountains in Lincoln Nat'l Forest, this is the perfect place to recharge your batteries, and connect with friends / family. We have all the comforts of home, stunning views, amazing night skies, privacy, cool local attractions... plus experienced hosts committed to your wonderful getaway. When guests arrive they're always shocked by how big it really is - nearly twice the size of any rental in our area. Read on and find out why we're so popular! You will occupy two large domes joined together totaling 5000 square feet of indoor area for your friends and family. Imagine... 27' ceilings, lofts and multiple skylights giving an extremely spacious feel, a functional art gallery surrounding you with tantalizing works of art, nothing to see but trees and mountains out every window... The dining area seats 16 and the large living room offers multiple seating areas. A large deck provides even more places to chill! Where's YOUR favourite place to curl up with a book and a bevvie? 6 bedrooms and 13 beds give plenty of sleeping options. All the cooking appliances you could need are waiting in the kitchen as well as china, cutlery, pots and pans etc. There is an outdoor BBQ. Propane and utensils are supplied. The huge fully equipped kitchen and open dining area is big enough for large groups to cook and eat together - with art and books surrounding you it's a feast for the eyes while you feast with your loved ones! Make your reservation now as dates fill quickly, and please make sure you input the total number of guests to see the correct price. It is so amazing to be completely surrounded in nature, 10 miles from any other homes! Peace and quiet, beauty, and comfort. We encourage environmental and conservation awareness! Hope to see you soon! Drive right up to your door.. There's plenty of parking! And there's tons of Nat'l Forest Trails all around us, plus lots of cool day trips! We're about 45 minutes drive from High Rolls, and from there you can go up to Cloudcroft, or down to Alamogordo. White Sands Nat'l Park, the Petroglyphs, Valley of Fire, Space and History Museums and more are all very do-able day trips from here. We like to show you the ropes and then give you privacy! The Domes are located 12 miles south of High Rolls on Westside Rd. There are no other homes within 10 miles so it is very peaceful and private. The road is maintained by the Forest Service but is unpaved and mountainous. You MUST have AWD or 4 wheel drive if there has been snow or a lot of rain. Otherwise cars are fine. Ask us about road conditions in the winter and rainy season if you are concerned. It is a 30 - 45 min. drive from the highway depending on vehicle and driver! It may take a bit longer after dark if you are unfamiliar with the road. Views are magnificent and there are some viewing areas where you can pull over, so be sure to bring a camera. We hope you can drive up before dark - sunsets are spectacular! Directions: In High Rolls, turn south from Hwy 82 onto Westside road (across from the High Rolls General Store). There is a "Westside Rd" street sign. Check your odometer and drive exactly 12 miles. When you see the Domes Nature Retreat sign (as pictured in the photos section) turn up the driveway and follow the arrows. Plenty of on site parking. Cell phone reception is decent with most providers but not all. We have a hot spot for internet. We have delicious pure mountain spring water - no need to haul in bottled water! We do not allow wild and/or heavy drinking parties. This is a very unique site - it is our home as well as a functional art gallery, and is decorated with many beautiful things. Small children must be monitored at all times. If you are hosting a workshop please let us know. PLEASE NOTE: When driving here, once you leave the Hwy, the first mile is paved and then it is a winding gravel mountain road the rest of the way. This is a Nat'l Forest road and while it is always passable (barring unusual weather) the condition of the road varies. Sometimes it can be quite bumpy. If there has been a lot of precipitation it can be muddy in a few spots. We always advise prior to your arrival if weather looks dubious, and if we feel 4WD is necessary. We recommend driving in daylight if possible - the views are stunning! Most people are fine with the roads, and occasionally someone says it's their favourite part!
