Whilst Glen Bar Gardens is rural, it is only 15-mins to the Historic gold rush town of Gympie, with a substantial shopping precinct, and it is very much the hub of an incredible diverse range of scenic beauty. If attending the area for a special occasion, work or family get-together, Glen Bar Gardens is the perfect place to make as your base. Glen Bar Gardens can offer longer stay accommodation for professional and construction workers at the owners discretion. Welcome to our little piece of paradise , 15 mins west of Gympie Qld. Glen Bar Gardens is a quiet 5 acred, tall timber retreat with expansive lawns and garden groves , and has a fully self contained apartment with private access to 3 queen bedrooms, comfy living/dining with TV, Wi Fi and fully functional butlers kitchen, incorporating convection microwave, induction cook-top, medium size refrigerator, toaster, electric jug and drip percolator coffee and crockery and cutlery for 6 guests, and separate toilet. All rooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans. Wanting a relaxing no-fuss holiday?. Continental breakfast is included, which you can enjoy in the Gazebo or on the veranda taking in the serenity of the property, enjoy the sunrise and the morning trill of the many birds. We have a no smoking policy in the apartment. Gympie has markets every Sunday. The "Rattler" train operates Wednesday and Sunday to Imbil, where there is usually a market day. Mary Street is the main hub of Gympie for shops, Boutique, Coffee, Bric a Brac etc.It also has several pubs, which offer great lunches and dinner. Take a stroll along the newly completed Mary river walkway from bridge to bridge or around Lake Alford visitors park and information centre, where there is an abundance of birdlife and whilst there visit the Gold museum and enjoy a cuppa in the cafe. Explore the many beautiful beaches of Rainbow Beach, Tin Can Bay, Noosa, The Sunshine Coast and Maryborough all within a 45min drive. Hervey Bay and Fraser Island are about 1 1/4 hr drive. The hinterland includes great tourist towns such as Maleny, Montville, and Flaxton. We highly recommend the Seafood platter at the Mapleton Pub. Sit and enjoy quality food while viewing the entire coast below you from Caloundra to Coolum Beach. On the way back visit the Cheese factory at Kenilworth all just an easy drive. Also Eumundi markets Saturday and Wednesday are a must see about 1/2 hr drive. Other small interesting towns, Goomeri has an annual pumpkin festival and Kilkevan has a yearly horse ride, again just an easy 40min drive. Gympie has a world class Aquatic Centre. Sunshine Coast airport is just 50min drive, and now that the 4 lane highway comes all the way to Gympie, both the the city of Brisbaneand its international airport are less than 2 hrs away. There is also a "'Tilt Train"' service north to Rockhampton and south to Brisbane City. N.B. Glen Bar Gardens is not serviced by public transport. Your Host Elaine welcomes you on arrival.
