La Roseraie, near Saulieu

This comfortable, modern gite is situated opposite the owners' house. Situated on the first floor of the old barn it incorporate high ceilings with original beams. Comprises large bedroom, shower room and spacious living room/kitchen. A beautifully renovated gite with stunning views over the beautiful Burgundian countryside. The gite has one bedroom with a double bed but there is also a sofa bed in the living room which could accommodate 2 small children. There is a tv but this has only English channels. There is also a DVD player so please remember to bring your DVDs. Guests have a shared use of a laundry facility and large family room in the Old stable and Tack Room. In the stables you will find a large table for communal meals with access to the garden, a well equipped kitchen area and some toys for the kids. This room has kept all the original features such as the beamed ceiling, troughs and feeding byres. Outside, a grassed area with shrubs and a further secluded garden with BBQ. This is a great place to spend time with friends, family & grandchildren. There is a shared indoor pool across from the gite. This is only open in the summer months (mid June to end of August) Please note this pool is not heated. Bed Linen and Towels are included for the gite. Towels must not be taken to the pool! DUE TO HYGIENE RULES DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS PLEASE NOTE A END OF STAY CLEANING FEE OF 35 EUROS IS PAYABLE IN CASH ON ARRIVAL. I am living opposite the gites so am on hand for any questions or problems you may have. Burgundy is a very beautiful part of France with stunning countryside. La Motte Ternant with its medieval church overlooking the pretty village below is a great base for exploring the Morvan national park and the vineyards of the Cote d'or. Although in the country we are very accessible. This includes the famous hospice in Beaune with a drive through the pretty vineyard villages en route (Route de Vignoble), Roman ampitheatre at Autun and the historic city of Dijon are all less than an hour's drive. Great for cycling and walking straight from the cottage. There are also many VTT routes nearby, the Canal de Bourgogne and pretty lanes that go for miles. Equestrian centres are nearby for horse lovers. Paris with all its glamour and history is easily reached by train in an hour from the nearby TGV station (25 mins away), A 'depot de pain' is in the village where you can order fresh bread, croissants etc and buy everyday essentials (open from mid May) and La Yauberge, an established cafe/bistro serving lunches and dinner. Great for an aperitif on their sunny terrace. The local Post Office next to the cafe is open every morning. Saulieu is a busy market town 10kms away and has a bustling market every Saturday morning, well worth a visit! Also home to the famous Bernard Loiseau two star Michelin Star restaurant and newly completed spa and bistro. There are many lakes in the area, great for walking and swimming. Lac de Settons has many watersports available in the summer months. A car is necessary for this part of France. The nearest supermarket is 10 kilometres away but there is a small village shop and cafe open during the summer months within 10 minutes walk. The nearest restaurant is a 10 minute walk from the gite. There is a sofa bed in the living room which is suitable for young children or a fold down bed can be provided for a child. During the summer months there is a small "Depot de Pain" where you can order your fresh bread, croissants etc for collection. They also have a small cafe which serves coffee or a chilled glass of wine if you prefer.
