We love living in this beautiful, peaceful, tree filled environment. We also appreciate the proximity to facilities if and when we need them. We visit Warrandyte Village on a regular basis and often take walks along the banks of the Yarra River. Description This very private fully furnished, self contained cottage offers accommodation for up to 2 adults. The Cottage has a separate well equipped kitchen and bathroom with glass sliding doors off the lounge/bedroom area leading to a secluded deck with outdoor furniture, barbecue and magnificent views. The Cottage is very centrally located - an ideal spot from which to explore the Yarra Valley, Dandenongs, Warrandyte, the Mornington Penninsular and is only 30 minutes drive from Melbourne City. A bus service runs past the top of the street which connects to the Train Station from where trains will take you to either Belgrave (Puffing Billy Steam Train and the Dandenong Ranges) or Lilydale (Yarra Valley) in one direction and Melbourne City in the other (approximate 40 minute train ride). Private transport of course makes these popular destinations even closer. Yarra Valley Winery Day Tours also operate from the Ringwood train station or pickup can be arranged directly from the Cottage. Why stay at Carr's Cottage? You will be welcome to access the garden and lawn area surrounding the cottage. The cottage key is located in a lock box situated on the wall under the outside light by the back door of the cottage. The key code will be supplied prior to your arrival. You are welcome to use the laundry in the house when either of us is at home. More often than not either my husband or I are at home in the big house on week days. We are always very happy to assist you if you have any queries, however the cottage is very private and separate from the house - your privacy is guaranteed. The property is situated on the side of a hill and overlooks a valley of trees. It is a very peaceful environment with much bird life. However, it is close to all amenities including shops, movie theatres, restaurants, cafes etc. There is a very pleasant bush walk just minutes walk from the cottage and more extensive walks nearby. Off street parking is available at the property for 1 vehicle. The nearest bus stop is at the top of the street. The bus will take you to the Ringwood Railway Station in approximately 7 minutes. The train to the city takes around 40 minutes. To drive into the city down the M3 Freeway takes approximately 25 minutes during Off Peak periods During the course of the COVID-19 virus outbreak the cottage is available to all residents of Victoria, Australia who can prove they have not recently returned from a country outside Australia or had contact with anyone who has recently returned. Maximum 2 x adults - not suitable for children. During this period stays are restricted to 7 x nights or more. Social distancing will apply, although the cottage is completely separate from our home and there will be no need for close physical proximity.
