Gembrook, Tranquil farm cottage

Our secluded cottage is set in 40 acres of rolling hills, stunning views, just minutes from town.Family friendly with an assortment of animals and exploration for kids or a totally relaxing break for couples in total private surroundings.Breakfast of fresh eggs and bacon/cereals etc is included in the price. The farm cottage is an experience not just a bed to sleep on. A fully functional country modern industrial 2 bedroom cottage set on a 40 acre farm.Breakfast is included with your stay. The cottage has 2 large open living areas, main lounge /kitchen area has a comfy lounge nestled around the wood heater and a large westerly window overlooking the rolling hills with a horse or two grazing in the paddocks, its like a Tv with changing views. The country kitchen combined dinning table,coming off that area are two sliding doors onto the large entertaining deck, perfect for enjoying a Summers night. Around the corner is the East facing covered in deck for sunny morning breakfasts with our own chooks suppling the eggs. It's a help yourself arrangement. The main bedroom occupies a queen size bed with garden views. The 2nd bed room is morning lit, with 3 king single bunks for the kids and a double bed for couples. All beds supply bedding, pillow & cases, Doona & covers and linen. Bathroom with shower and Bath. Towels provided. Off that bedroom is a lounge area with wood heater and large flat screen tv making it perfect for relaxing nights or rainy days. Library and dvds,records for your entertainment. Outside off the deck is the 4 person spa great for relaxing under the stars. Just a few meters from the house is our fire pit area surrounded by a circular garden and 180 degree views overlooking the horse and alpaca paddocks. The chook shed is there for you to collect eggs and say hello to the hens, local fauna range from wallabies to tawny frog mouth owls , wombats kookaburras,black cockatoos,sulfa crested cockatoos,occasionally a koala. Forest Edge restaurant is close by,it's a renown wedding reception venue as well..great wood fire Pizzas on a Sunday afternoon. Also in town enjoy a fantastic meal at The Independent Restaurant. HIGHLY Recommended..But you must book. Puffing Billy comes into Gembrook twice a day. The great "Thomas the Tank" race is held in November. A must for the kids. Eateries and IGA are at your convenience. Local wineries are a 20 minute drive away and for walking ,riding enthusiasts Kirth Kiln State park is a five minute drive away with beautiful walks and riding tracks through acres of forest. There is so much more to do around the area, at the house is a full guided book of local and surrounding attractions. The Cottage/ Farm is suitable for a family get away,romantic weekend, girls weekends,mountain bike trail riders,bush walkers. Brides can have a memorable pre wedding night with family and brides maids and the next day an easy walk or car ride to Forest Edge wedding venue. You can even bring your own horse along and ride the trails at Kirth Kiln State Park- a private paddock is supplied for your horse. We do not provide internet access as we believe that there is plenty to do and it's a great opportunity to get away from it all. All there for you to enjoy.! The Cottage and surrounding gardens are for guest access . Paddocks are Strictly No access Only front paddock is accessible with animals on request. I will be there at your arrival to help with settling in. Then I can be contacted if any problems arise. I am a local of the area and have decided to share the amazing experience at Penrose hill Farm with (URL HIDDEN) much to enjoy! There is a limited bus service from Belgrave and Pakenham. Puffing Billy runs to Gembrook twice a day. Your own transport is advisable and there is ample parking on the property. The owner does not live on the property so Strict guidelines are to be adhered to with access to horses and animal paddocks. Parents are to supervise Children around the spa, playground equipment and if permissable the animals on the property. No children are allowed in the spa with out adult supervision. Bunk beds are suitable for children over the age of 12 years only.
