Near Cluny, vacation home in scenic setting

Enjoy th privacy of a country home in a charming village of South Burgundy, near Cluny, for holidays combining nature, culture and historic heritage. The property is rustic, yet comfortable and cosy, with all modern amenities. It is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy an active holiday while being able to ease into relaxation mode in a scenic setting with the trappings of country life. The house, a former winery and cask-making facility, has been entirely renovated, but retains its rustic old charm. You will stay on the first floor and second floors in a duplex apartment with independent access. It has lovely views over the meadow and courtyard, and is perfectly insulated, even in sweaty summer months. In the front yard, facing the 12th century church you'll have access to a large outdoor, sheltered café-style dining area , with a huge plancha, fridge, freezer and bar. At the back, you'll access a panoramic terrace overlooking the meadow and the 10 X 5 m inground pool. From mornings to starry nights, lots of enjoyment ahead. Nice, well-equipped kitchen to try these Burgundy recipes. The woodstove in the living room area will provide hours of delights in the chilly season. Inside, you'll walk into a large living room with an open kitchen and bar. Comfy armchairs and a sofa in front of the television. A large bedroom with a king sized bed (or 2 singles), chest, hanging rods and shelf. A bathroom with rain shower, shelves, washbasin, toilet and washing machine. Upstairs is the second bedroom featuring either 2 or 3 single beds, or a double, king-sized bed and a single bed. You can enjoy all the outside amenities. Access to your apartment is from the barn, the stairs are wide and safe. It also leads directly to the terrace overlooking the pool and meadow. I live on the property and will be there if you need anything. Within a 30 mn radius, you can access a rich cultural artistic and cultural life, visit chateaux and fortresses, climb rocks, cycle soft (for me) or hard (for the sporty ones), discover stone villages, taste wine, eat glorious food at a fraction of the price paid in big cities. In short, enjoy life! Shops: not in the village (but we have, for all it's worth, starry skies unspoilt by civilisation!). Bakeries, grocer's, fruits, vegs, pharmacy, postoffice, farmer's market a 7-mn drive. (Nice) Restaurants 7- mn drive - - Supermarkets, 15-mn drive. TGV stations of Le Creusot or Macon Loché are both within a 35 mn drive Comfort : bedlinen is pure, creased linen. Towels are nice and soft. Heated floor throughout in cold months. Rain shower in the bathroom. Practicalities : You'll find basic ingredients in the kitchen, toilet paper, basic cleaning supplies and washing powder. There is an expresso machine. Should you need additional capsules after using up your welcome pack, we sell them at cost. Hygiene: you want to feel at home to wrap around those throws, walk barefoot on the rug, lie on the couch...We steamclean these items after each stay. Mattresses and pillows are protected by washable covers under the cases and sheets. We use organic disinfectants and steam on washable surfaces and floors. Please also shower before each pool session. 'Pépère', our pool robot, takes care of the rest. Outdoors: chairs, loungers, hammock, tables and coffee tables in each seating area. Bicycles, darts game, pétanque also available. Pool in operation from end of May to mid-September. Parties are welcome, just make sure you respect the neighbours and people in the village and enforce legislation. Safety: There is NO direct access to the pool from the back terrace or front yard or house to the pool, in a deliberate effort to keep small children out of danger , even with the alarm on An electric charger for car is available at a cost.
