Paddock Hall
Paddock Hall is a boutique, bohemian house that is hand built and consciously designed for recuperation and reconnection to nature. The Hall's open plan living space and exposed beam ceiling is fashioned using sustainably sourced timber and old world joinery. Enjoy the unique interior of timbers and white wash, the simple, beautifully curated furnishings and the surrounding gorgeous green of the sub tropics. The retreat offers a wood fire place, king sized bed, kitchenette and comfortable living area. The large sun lit bathroom and laundry has all amenities and privacy. The space is open plan, with the fireplace and arm chairs nestled down one end and a fourposter bed in the other. The dining table is in the middle and two huge glass sliding doors open onto the spacious veranda allowing views, breeze and plenty of light. A vintage claw foot bath sits on the veranda that spans the length of the Hall, overlooking the paddock and a row of grand tallowwood trees. The paddock hosts friendly pet goats. Paddock Hall is a completely detached, self contained guest house, privately tucked in the corner of the paddock, thirty meters from the big house. There is plenty of space for parking just next to Paddock Hall. It is just a short walk through the beautiful tropical gardens to the 15 meter pool and deck. Paddock Hall's veranda has steps down to a gate that leads into the small grassy garden that’s just into the paddock with a bbq. Here you can meet the animals and enjoy the expansive sky and brilliant stars. We live in the big house and someone is nearly always home. We are very relaxed, easy hosts and would love to help with anything our guests need, be it local recommendations, directions or help with the wood fire. We are quiet and personable and will respect the privacy of anyone staying but are always available whenever required. Paddock Hall and the Big House were lovingly hand built on our property 'Yalburabah', meaning 'place of healing' in the language of the indigenous Bundjalung people of the area. Yalburabah is a working macadamia farm and home. It is on a quiet rural road but is close to the highway, only 15 minutes drive to the beautiful surf beaches of Lennox Head and the healing waters of Lake Ainsworth. Killen Falls is just a 10 minute drive down the road and the renowned restaurant, deli and bakery 'Harvest', in Newrybar is under 15 minutes away. Newrybar also offers fantastic shopping for homewares, fashion and antiques. We are 20 minutes to Byron and it's beaches and shops. There is no public transport in the area. Guests will require a car but there is plenty of parking available here. Paddock Hall is designed, like the big house, to promote full integration and immersion in the beautiful property and surrounds. For this reason the space is airy and open and does not air conditioning. The climate here is nearly always comfortable and temperate and we find this suits us fine. We offer a king size cotton mosquito net over the bed for guest's comfort.
