Bazas Inn Fontarabie - Village house with a view
This beautiful antique holiday home (self-catered) fits up to 5-6 people, suitable for a couple, friends or families. The house is completely independent, has a private entrance but the owners live in the house next to it and they are here to assist you at any time. Philippe (french) and Sigrid (Icelandic) both speak english. The house overviews the very green countryside but is still located in the old city. The house is located near bakeries, The house is very sunny from the beginning of the afternoon until the evening and the thick walls keep the house relatively fresh in the hot summer days. There is a little beautiful terrace with a fig tree and wisteria where it is nice to have a drink or dinner and there is also an outside shower. grocery shops, butcher, cafés and restaurants etc. All the house is accessible Philippe and Sigrid (or family) will be available during your stay to assist you and answer the questions you might have about things to do and so on. Bazas is situated on the Santiago de Compostelle path and is a good place to stop and enjoy before crossing the huge forest of the Landes. The village house is in a rustic/chic style and located in the middle of a diverse landscape. The city of Bazas is an antique city with a lot of history. We are only a few steps from the main square where the gothic cathedral is situated and where a know market takes place each Saturday. 20 km from Bazas are a lot of wine acres, the famous Bordeaux wines. We are ca. 75 km from the Atlantic Ocean, where there are a lot of nice sea towns, like Arcachon. If you want to visit the big and beautiful city of Bordeaux, it only takes about 50 minutes to drive there. The huge land forests of Les Landes is just nearby. Bazas is on the Santiago de Compostella path. There are good public transportation from Bordeaux and Langon. You can drive around easily and get to the accommodation easily by car and the parking is free, no parking fees. There is a very beautiful walking path just in front of the house which is called the Brèche. There are a lot of bike paths all around Bazas, that can even take you to the shore. We are half way from Dordogne to pays Basque.
