This unique house located right on the Pilgrim's way guarantees a restful stay in the beautiful Surrey Hills area. The guest accommodation at the ground floor is very modern, spacious and with it's own entry. The house has some of the latest environmental kit: There is a Ground Source Heat Pump which provides heating for the under floor system and the hot water. It is connected to a pipe which goes 100 metres under the house and back,we also collect rain water which is used to flush the toilets. This is a ground floor flat in the main house, the flat is wheelchair friendly with easy entrance and access to all areas and large wetroom. The properties are fitted with solar panels which feed into battery storage so most of our electricity is home generated. Even in a power cut we keep going. The pool is heated by a highly efficient Air Source Heat Pump which uses only a small fraction of energy used by the previous old fashioned heater. We live upstairs in the main house and therefore can be available if needs be. The house is set in Surrey Hills located right on St Swithun’s Pilgrims Way fantastic for walking and cycling routes. Alice Holt forest is on only 10 min drive and so it's Birdworld. The beautiful Frensham ponds and surrounding heathland are only a stone's throw away and highly recommended. Farnham town itself is an ancient market town, sitting just below the Pilgrims' Way. There are lots of good pubs, restaurants and the occasional market. There are lots of great pubs in the area, all very individual. We recommend : The Anchor Inn in Lower Froyle, great food and atmosphere The Chequers in Well, recommended for its super fresh seafood The Plume of Feathers in Crondall , good local pub with great food and atmosphere The Tweseldown in Tweseldown, very relaxed, comfortable and delicious food The Plough in Farnham known for it's live music and esoteric atmosphere Farnham has a main line train station, but we are about 2 miles away outside the town in the countryside. The house has some of the latest environmental kit. It is the first Huf Haus to have triple glazing as standard in the UK. There is a Ground Source Heat Pump which provides heating for the under floor system and the hot water. It is connected to a pipe which goes 100 metres under the house and back, in which a liquid circulates. As it rises back to the house it comes in at about 13 degrees Centigrade. The pump then compresses the liquid which causes it to heat up and that heat is captured by an exchanger. The liquid is then released at normal pressure at about zero degrees and sent back down to once again be warmed by the natural heat below the surface. The action is continuous. For every unit of energy used we get back 3 units of heat, which makes for an environmentally friendly and cheap source of heating with a low carbon footprint. Most of our electricity comes from a photo voltaic roof which at peak can produce 10 kWh. In the event of a power cut the house disconnects from the grid and powers itself with the help of a battery. We also collect rain water which is used to flush the toilets and supply the washing machine.
