Converted Old School in idyllic Rutland village
This recently converted Old School is located in the middle of the countryside, on the green one of Rutland best kept villages. Close to Rutland water and Stamford, there is a a lot to do whilst also being the perfect place to relax with the whole family. The Old School is a bright and airy space with a safe and homely atmosphere, a unique, cosy and happy family home. On entering the house you enter the hallway, leave your bags and coats and step in the dramatic and striking high-ceiling hallway. This large, bright space is central to the ground floor where either turn into the large open plan kitchen or the living room. The kitchen is complete with high spec oven, fridges and of course a pale apple green ceiling and dusty pink walls, a perfect English country kitchen. Adjoining the kitchen is the snug, a colourful, pattern full family room, comfortable and robust perfect for both adults to kick back and children to play. The living room is a large, sophisticated space, calm and particularly warming when the log burner is lit. It’s a great space to listen to music, read the paper or just chat and drink with friends in the evening whilst you wind down after a busy day out exploring . Upstairs there is the large main room with a double bed and teal and wooden tones, there is also a desk here if you need to work whilst away. The second upstairs bedroom has 2x single beds. The third bedroom is on the ground floor with a double bed and a small cot, with an attached shower and loo. All bedrooms are lovely and quiet so the perfect ingredient for a good nights sleep. Outside enjoy the secure walled garden complete with a pond (secure for kids) a stunning wisteria adorned pergola and vegetable patch. On sunny days eat around the outdoor furniture or just lie on the sunbeds enjoying true idyllic country life. Barrowden is voted Rutland best kept largest village. It is located adjacent to the River Welland in Rutland just off the A47 between Uppingham and Peterborough, and close to Stamford. It is a medium sized village with a population of approximately 600 to 700 people. There is a church, a village hall, a doctor's surgery, a shop, a mobile library, a recreational field with cricket club and a pub, The Exeter Arms. Barrowden can trace its history back to the eleventh century. The Old School is in one of Rutland’s best kept largest villages. The village itself has so much to offer and is incredibly kid friendly. The old school sits in the listed part of the village along with pub The Exeter Arms (awarded Trip Advisor’s travellers choice award which means it is voted in the top ten % of restaurants in the world) and the village green. Other highlights of the village include the community shop, the cricket pitch and playground. Running down the bottom of the village is a river which offers stunning walks along, or alternatively head out to see the striking viaduct nearby.
