Magical Eco-cabin in a forest. Our chalet is targeted at vegans and vegetarians who are also nature-lovers seeking inspiration & peace. There is one double and one twin bedroom, a spacious shower-room (flush WC with reed-bed system.) The lounge-kitchen-diner is open-plan with a cosy wood-burning stove. There is a sun terrace with table, chairs, and bench. Ideal for breakfast, just chillin' or stargazing. Wake to birdsong and go to sleep serenaded by owls! Welcome to La Foret des Etoiles Chalet. All the beds have comfortable memory foam mattresses. There are extra blankets available in each room. Bed-linen and towels are provided. There is a compact, well equipped kitchen with a kettle, a selection of teas/hot drinks for guests to enjoy. There are books and magazines in each bedroom. Guests are welcome to park in the spacious parking area on the left as you come up the hill just as you turn into the chalet's own wee road, and you can drive right to the chalet to unload you vehicle. The space immediately around the chalet is yours for your stay, and the limits will be indicated. Just inside the entrance to our property there is a Magi Labyrinth for meditative walks and contemplation. The other areas of forest within the fence are private. We work mostly from home running a healing/complementary therapies practice. We are happy to answer questions, give recommendations for places to visit, local amenities. We've also provided local info & maps within the chalet The nearest shops are a 5 minute journey by car at Vallière. There is a mini-supermarket, traditional baker-tabac, post office (with ATM outside), greengrocer, hairdresser, chocolatier, garage, brocante. Our area is very rural and there are no local bus services. Having a car is essential for getting around. Bus services are limited to the larger towns at Aubusson and Felletin. The roads are very quiet and if you enjoy cycling or walking, this is an added bonus. There are many walking trails to explore within the Millevaches National Park and wild swimming is available in nearby freshwater lakes. We have three cats living here. (Buzz, Pixie & Melody) Please do not feed them or allow them in the chalet. They are masters of the 'pleading miaow'. They are well fed and loved by us! They also have access to free-range 'wild food' which they may hunt for themselves in the forest. Check-in is after 16:00. Check-out is before 10:00 It takes between 4 and 5 hours to change the cabin linen and to clean it in preparation for the next guests. Guests are most welcome to walk in the labyrinth, behind the guest chalet, the road to the hamlet at the bottom the hill and the many forest trails nearby. The other areas of forest within the fence are private. We are a totally smoke-free zone; indoors as well as outdoors. This is a meat-free household, suitable for vegans, vegetarians and raw food lovers. Evening meals may be booked (1 day's notice please) at €25.00 per person. The kitchen policy of the chalet is as follows: Whilst the chalet is rented out, it is the responsibility of the renter to ensure that a strict vegetarian/vegan regimen is adhered to. Any cooked or uncooked meat contamination from a client will result in a cleaning charge. Tell me in advance if you intend to charge an electric car at the chalet during your stay. We can work out an appropriate costing charge together. To save any confusion concerning the booking process: If you increase the number in your group after the booking is agreed upon, there will be a charge. If you increase the number in your group during your stay, there will be a charge.
