The Moroccan Retreat - A secluded private oasis.

This home takes you on a journey to faraway places, a different time and space, and away from everyday worries. The organic nature of stone, mud and rough wood, creates a spirit and ambiance that makes you instinctively want to run your hands across the earth walls, and walk barefoot across the floorboards. It'a sensory experience, full of energy and richness of other worlds, a place you would love to happen upon while travelling. This house is for families and those wanting a low key holiday. The house was constructed in 2002 and is made largely of recycled eco-friendly sustainable materials. It operates thermally, usually 6-7 degrees cooler or warmer depending on the season. The walls are constructed of Hebel aerated concrete, then mud rendered with 3 layers of lime, straw and local mud from the red clay found on the plateau. The architectural pieces come from Northern Africa and India. The design is predominately Moroccan with influences from the adobe of south western USA. The house is made up of three interconnected buildings that house a diverse collection of curiosities from many parts of the world . The concept is that, as you leave the street and walk down to the house, you are immediately transported to another time and place. This house, perched on top of the angophora reserve offers peace and tranquility unrivalled by no other. Guests are welcome to all spaces in the house. - Browse the adult and children's books in the libraries. - Jump on the trampoline and play in The Fort Cubby House on the lawn. - 3 soft blue surfboard are available for use. - There are two bathtubs and four showers in the house. - Dining available both inside and out. - Relax in the lounge room or the outside cabana and deck. - Embrace the serenity of the frangipani trees while dunking in the fenced spacious plunge. - For inside entertainment there’s Foxtel and Netflix US. - Spotify is powered in the central areas of the house by a Sonos speaker system. Bilgola plateau overlooks the Angophora Reserve, with views of Pittwater and the Pacific Ocean. There are 5 local beaches only 3-10 minutes by car. Avalon Village is a 5 minute walk or 2 minute drive. Avalon is filled with cafes and international cuisine restaurants. The famous Palm Beach walking trail, which leads to a lighthouse, is a 10 minute drive from our home. There is endless capacity to explore many beaches and views up and down this Northern Peninsula. The house is accessible by public transport at specific times of the day. For ease of movement and exploration, a car is highly recommended. While I wish to welcome you warmly, and have no reason to doubt your intentions for staying in our home, I feel it is imperative that the rules are crystal clear. - Parties and events are strictly prohibited on this premise. - Only the number of booked guests can stay on the premise. - Loud noise is prohibited. Music is to be turned down to a minimum at all times and shut off by 10pm. This is in respect to our lovely neighbours, and abides by the instated council regulations. - The house is to be left in the good order to which you find it. - A signed lease agreement will be required prior to check-in. - The ID of booked guests will be required. This includes names and ages of all people staying in our home. Airbnb is very strict on house rules, and will immediately evacuate and relocated guests who do not respect these rules.
