Marama Cottage @ Two Moons Farm

Welcome to Marama Cottage on Two Moons Farm! We are currently working on turning our lifestyle block into a productive small scale organic farm. We can’t wait to share our little slice of paradise! Meet our animals, enjoy our gardens and all that Christchurch and the surrounding area has to offer. We are centrally located just 15 mins from the CBD but our place feels a world away and is a great retreat! Cozy up to an outdoor fire after a day of skiing or fishing or tramping or sightseeing! Marama (Maori for “moon”) cottage is a private house on our beautiful property. Enjoy exploring our gardens, meeting our animals, or just relaxing in a quiet, peaceful space. There is a full kitchen with essentials for cooking (oil, salt and pepper, etc) and we are happy to provide you with anything extra—Just ask! We are located near some epic walks and amazing scenery, with lots of ideas on where to eat and what to do. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other has twin bunks and a double bed. Both have closets with hangers. There is a nice big bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower. There is also a washer/dryer just for you! We have furniture outside for relaxing and enjoying the farm. There is free wifi and freeview tv and we have special things just for kids! If you are interested in getting to know us as hosts, we’d be happy to dine together, or leave you to your own devices. We adhere to the new cleaning guidelines set out by Airbnb and supply guests with all the cleaning supplies they need to ensure a clean, safe stay. We have beautiful gardens that guests are welcome to explore. Since these are on our private part of the farm, we ask that you let us know before just heading off to them. We will take you to meet the animals and are happy to show you around or take you for a ride on the quad bike. There is lots of quiet space to relax and enjoy the birdsong! We are as available as you desire. We are keen to meet new people and to share our space, but won’t be offended if you’d rather have your time and space to yourself. We’d be happy to dine together, or just to chat about your travels over drinks! But we are also happy just to wave from the driveway. We live in a rural area nestled in between several more populated areas. We are close to Lincoln, Hornby, Rolleston, and Christchurch CBD, but enjoy the feeling of being away from it all at days end. We are about 1.5hrs away from Mt Hutt ski fields, and the same to Akaroa. There are lots of hidden gems of cafes and nature walks all around us, and we are happy to share our knowledge of the best local spots. Bring your spirit of adventure and you will feel right at home! We recommend that you have a car or other vehicle to get around. There is so much to do around here within day-trip range, it’s really the best way to get around. Christchurch is however very bike friendly and there are always riders on the road. Biking to Halswell quarry or to the adventure park from our place is easy and fun! We are located about 15 minutes from the CBD, and from the airport. We recommend having a car, as Uber will not pick up from the house. We can arrange occasional transportation with our own car, ie we can pick you up or drop off at the airport, but we can’t provide transportation around town.
