There is nowhere closer to the historic colleges than this. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and the only negative is that the room is on the second floor has single glazing so when the students party you may be aware of it ! I do have a second room for double occupancy with two single beds . I require a photo and gov Identification. A beautiful light double bedroom occupying the second floor of this property build in the early years on the nineteenth century for returning Napoleonic soldiers .Bathroom next door which is shared by host although she uses the basement facilities most of the time. Use of kitchen for coffee and tea but not as an office as there is a fold down desk in your room. Guests have sole use of their room but not en suite. Wifi info inside drawer of bedside table . We love Cambridge and will be happy to help you make the most of your stay here in the city centre of this beautiful city. We'll tell you our favourite spots to visit to help you make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We provide self service tea and coffee and plenty of eateries a stones throw from here . Portugal Place is one of Cambridge's prettiest streets. Built alongside St Clements Church and opposite St John's College,it is a gem of a place ! The narrow lane is paved in flagstones and is lined with pot plants and Victorian street lamps. On one end of Portugal Place, you have the a keno colleges;to the right you have the River Cam,with punts and swans gliding past;at the other end of the street, you have the huge expanse of Jesus Green where you can sit by the river, play tennis ,swim in the open air lido (outdoor swimming pool ) or take your picnics and barbecues. There's always a great atmosphere! The best of Cambridge , literally on your doorstep! There is no need for transport into the centre ; you walk everywhere. Cycles are available to hire locally. There are plenty of bus services, taking you to the station or outlying villages, such as Grantchester where you should take tea at The Orchard! Cambridge railway station is a short bus or taxi ride away. Taxi will cost around £6. Park is a problem as the car park is expensive. We are a no shoes home. Please don't eat and drink in the room. Just ask me and I can provide plates etc and you can use the table in the kitchen. Also we have no parking except in the Park Street Car Park. Breakfast at Cote , Fitsbillies from eight on weekdays and nine on the weekends and Bridges on the corner opens at eight thirty. Thanks
