You also have a small, south-facing patio garden of your own, with seating area and BBQ. A few short steps from the front gate you will be on the famous Iford Manor bridge (as featured in ITV's Sanditon, 2019) overlooking the River Frome. With a cafe on site and regular events (see Iford Manor website for details), as well as a number of excellent pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby there are lots of excellent food choices. With 3 miles of footpaths through the Iford Manor Estate you can easily reach Westwood Manor (NT), Farleigh Castle (English Heritage), the stunning villages of Avoncliff and Freshford, or even walk as far as Bradford on Avon. Hop in your car to easily reach Bath, Frome, Bruton, Lacock, Stonehenge and many other nearby places to explore. Follow the lane a mile down the road and you will know you have arrived when you reach the Iford Bridge at the bottom with Britannia standing guard over the River Frome. Opposite are the front gates of Iford Manor. You can enter through these gates on arrival & departure to unload your luggage via the back door of Rowley Cottage, before then parking in the visitor car park. From Bradford on Avon, turn off the B3109 into Westwood (follow brown signs to Iford Manor). After leaving the village and its 20mph zone you will see the black gates of Iford Manor ahead of you, as the road bends to the right. Enter through those gates and then drive down our private driveway until you arrive at Iford Manor. You can then unload your luggage into the back door of Rowley Cottage before parking in the visitor car park. The Iford Manor visitor car park entrance is opposite the front entrance to Rowley Cottage, so just a few steps from your own private front gate. Set in an unspoilt, rural, tranquil valley within the Cotswolds AONB, Iford is one of the UK's top 20 most beautiful villages (Conde Nast Traveller 2021). In very easy reach of Bath and Bradford on Avon, it is the perfect place to explore the best of The Southern Cotswolds, Somerset, Bath & Bristol and Wiltshire (inc. Stonehenge). Car essential. The cottage is within the curtilage of Iford Manor and guests can enjoy access to their world-famous Grade 1 listed gardens before they open to the general public at 11am. Plenty of free parking for guests. Car recommended for exploring the Cotswolds, Somerset and Wiltshire - all easily accessed from Iford. In addition to Iford Manor Gardens (on site), there are plenty of sights to see nearby if willing to walk 30 minutes through the countryside, including Westwood Manor (NT) and Farleigh Hungerford Castle (EH), as well as the beautiful villages of Freshford and Avoncliff. Alternatively, it is a 30 minute walk to Freshford Station through the Iford Valley. From there it is one train stop to Bath or two to Bradford on Avon.
