Comfortable and spacious one bedroom apartment with separate entrance located on the ground (basement) level of our historic home in South Orange, New Jersey. South Orange is a vibrant commuter town located 25 minutes by train from New York Penn Station and 15 minutes from Newark Airport. Located 1 block from Seton Hall University. Off street parking is available. Stylish one bedroom basement apartment with a separate entrance located on the basement level of our home. A large living room area has a sectional sofa, a dining area and a flat-screen TV. A separate bedroom has a brand new king sized bed with a Nectar mattress. The sofa bed in the living room has a new memory foam mattress and pulls out to a queen-size bed. The full bath has a stall shower. There is a table with seating for four people for meals and working. The galley kitchen is well stocked and has all necessary equipment (full-size stove/oven, microwave, toaster, and coffeepot). There is also a laundry room that you are welcome to use. Please note prior to booking: 1. THIS IS A BASEMENT APARTMENT- must go down four stairs located immediately inside the exterior door. Our apartment may not be appropriate for those with mobility issues. 2. The shower is a stall type (see photos) so it may be a bit snug if you are very tall. Please do not book if either of these issues will negatively impact your stay. The entrance to the apartment is completely separate from the main house. The apartment is very private and quiet. Guests are welcome to use the laundry facilities. The apartment is in the basement of our home. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable! South Orange is a vibrant New York City Commuter town with a direct 25 minute train into Penn Station, mid-town Manhattan. We are less than a mile from the South Orange train station and only 20 minutes away from the Newark Airport. In addition to its proximity to New York City, the Village of South Orange has much to offer including many unique shops, restaurants, pubs, a movie theater and its own Performing Arts Center. South Orange is also home to Seton Hall University which is just one block from our home. The train station is 0.8 miles (9 blocks) from our house. It takes most people about 15 minutes to walk to and from the station. If you prefer not to walk, there is a "jitney" van service that can pick you up and drop you off at the end of our street during morning and evening commuter hours. Our train is a direct 30 minute train into Penn Station, NYC. If you have a vehicle, there is off street parking in the driveway. After the first two guests, there is a 20 charge for each additional guest. There is also a 50 dollar cleaning fee. If you wish to have cleaning on a weekly basis including a sheet and towel exchange please let us know so those arrangements can be made in advance. The fee is 50.00 per week for the cleaning service to come in. We welcome pets however there is a small additional pet cleaning fee so please inquire if you would like to travel with your pet.
