Welcome to the most unique setting Knoxville has to offer. Enjoy 1500 square feet of this historic 100+-year-old farmhouse. Just minutes from downtown, though you are surrounded by mature hardwood trees and a nice setback from the street. You will find all the conveniences the city has to offer, and yet you will find the tranquility that we all seek while traveling. Be my guest and enjoy the simplistic, and natural elements with nature just step out the door. I look forward to sharing my space with my guest. Its unique vibe created from my travels across the globe that have inspired me with so many eclectic and colorful, natural elements. I trust you will enjoy your stay. My house has the best of both worlds of old and new, with old home quirks blended with a modern kitchen and large rooms. My guest has enjoyed the openness, natural light, and flow of the space, as well as the front porch. The house is located in a historic neighborhood but lacks sidewalks which reduce the walkability. There is plenty of space to walk along the road to get to the neighborhood restaurants and stores though. I bought a brand new mattress from IKEA and thought it was a queen, but instead, it was a full-size mattress, sorry about that. Just enjoy snuggling closer or enjoy the second bedroom for yourself. I have just a few clients that I still see from my residence so you may see them on the property. It is far and few between though and they know to respect your space and parking. PARKING: This is a big deal, please read carefully- There is a designated gravel pad for you, but it is enough space for two vehicles, so pull to one side or the other and not right in the middle. Many of my guests have pulled forward and backed into the parking space so they can pull forward as they come and go. I thought this would be helpful to mention You have complete & private access to the main house and front yard. The side yard and part of the back yard are shared due to the owner resides in the studio space next to the house. The laundry room is the only shared space and the owner will make arrangements beforehand with guests. My house is over 100 years old and has some quirks that go with older homes. As guests, please be mindful of such characters, like squeaky doors, etc. Plumbing is updated, but please be mindful to NOT flush anything other than Toilet Paper. There are plenty of waste baskets around the house, the toilet is NOT one of them. HA! GAS STOVE: Everyone has enjoyed the professional commercial gas stove with griddle, but this means it does not have safety features for the gas knobs. Always check to make sure the knobs have not turned as you are working in the kitchen. As an Airbnb guest, the protocol for departure is to leave the house in a clean orderly state. This means many things and I will go over this with you during your stay. But just to give you some ideas, you are responsible to take ALL your food with you and wipe down major spills and crumbs. Eating in the living room area is fine, but please be mindful of spills, stains, and food droppings. Remember you are a house guest, which is a different mindset than a hotel. IF you are unsure how to clean a stain on a particular piece of furniture or rug, then ask me. I've raised a family and know these things happen. Don't let the stain just sit there. I've got tricks to clean almost anything. If you break anything or find something is not working during your stay, the sooner I know about it the sooner I fix it, instead of waiting for your departure and then finding out afterward. IF you rearranged the furniture, (yes this happens), please move it back before you leave and be mindful not to drag furniture across my lovely wood floors. I will look forward to interacting as you are open to it. Also, you may book a Thai yoga session with me, just give me well advance notice. My neighborhood is in Fountain City, known for it's natural springs. The main house was built in 1918 and is the only farm house of its kind right in the middle of urban life, just a few minutes drive from Downtown. You are walking distance to restaurants and brewery, Casual Pint. Many parks and green-ways in the area to enjoy. My house is located just off Broadway, which is the pike leading straight into downtown.
