The Red Yurt
Our yurt is on top of a mountain with great views into the Myrrhee valley and other great views overlooking the King Valley from all over the top of the ridge where the yurt is . situated. We think we have some of the best views in Victoria and you can enjoy them in privacy while sipping some local wines. We are a 345 hectare working farm with sheep, cows and goats grazing near the yurt. Lots of wineries nearby and other attractions and is on the same property as The Yurt Alpine Retreat. The yurt overlooks the Myrrhee valley. Lovely to watch the sun go down over the valley while sipping a glass of local wine. It has an open shower the same as our other yurt, the yurt alpine retreat. The inside is lovely and looks beautiful at night with lots of fairy lights and battery operated candles. It is cool in summer and warm in winter due to the small Mongolian stove and the pure wool felt underlay which surrounds the yurt. The property has sheep grazing all around the yurt and it is nice to wake up and be surrounded by the sheep. Lots of lovely walks along the Panoramic mountain ridge. There is a river and a waterfall nearby and lots of wineries to visit. It has a large battery operated fan and the glass dome allows you to look at the stars and also lets in fresh air. There are also cattle on the property as well as goats. It is situated on a 345 hectare working farm. Everything you need is there, you just need to bring your clothes and food. Plenty of parking outside the yurt. There is no public transport nearby as we are in quite an isolated small township of only 200 people. Nearest supermarket is 40kms away but there is a pub and a local store 15mins away. I usually like to take people up to the yurt and show them how things work. If people don't want that they can self check in. We are in a very small country town with only a population of 200 people. So quite isolated, the nearest shopping centre is 40kms away but we are only 20 minutes from wineries, we are also within 20 minutes of The Milawa cheese factory, and the olive shop as well as the Ned Kelly Trail at Glenrowan. You will need your own car as no public transport near here. There is an outside fire pit not to be used in the hotter summer months though due to high fire danger ratings.
