With just three tents La Prairie Étoilée is an exclusive glamping getaway just for couples in the heart of the stunning Berrichon countryside; where paths are less trodden. This is a magical and romantic setting, where you can unplug from the everyday, recharge your batteries and reconnect with each other in nature. As seen on TV - Channel 4's A New LIfe In The Sun, Series 7 in 2022 Stay in a beautiful Lotus Belle Tent situated on a wooden platform in lots of wide open space within a wildflower meadow, surrounded by undulating countryside and ancient hedgerows. The tent is incredibly light, airy and spacious with a beautiful interior designed to help you relax and enjoy every moment of your stay. Sink into the kingsize bed - with 400 count Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases, gel pillows, micro fibre quilt and natural linen duvet covers, you can expect a sumptuous night’s sleep! Subtle solar lighting sets the mood! Outside is you own dining and kitchen pavilion - a covered bamboo structure providing shelter and dappled shade. It’s a charming spot with everything you need to enjoy a leisurly breakfast or to prepare an alfresco meal and dine by candle light as you watch the sunset. Experience magical evenings around your very own campfire. Toast marshmallows. Grab your snuggle blankets for an evening of stargazing! Your private bathroom is just a short distance away from your tent. Here you will find your spacious shower, ecological toile, large fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Everything you need for a comfortable stay in Nature There is free on site parking in the car park a little way from the tents. We are sociable hosts that live on site but respect guests privacy. We are on hand for any questions guests may have and can offer advice on what to see and do and places to eat. We serve aperitif each evening & we have a Table D’Hôtes where we serve a 4 course dinner most evenings in our dining barn - a great opportunity for guests to socialise with each other & us if they wish to do so! We are situated in a very green, rural area, a little way outside the village of Crozon-Sur-Vauvre within the ancient province of Berry. There's lots of opportunity for car free days with walks and cycle routes right here.  We have amazingly comfy tandem bikes available for hire (includes instruction!) - such a great way to have fun and explore the immediate locality. Crozon-Sur-Vauvre boasts 3 lovely treasure trail walks, maps are available and the routes are have colour coded signposts so you can’t get lost (unless you want to!) We are near the departmental border of Creuse so very are well placed for exploring both Berry and parts of the Limousin with plenty of attractions, historical and cultural places of interest to visit and the stunning Creuse Valley. Also, just a short drive away, are a number of lakes for wild swimming, kayaking, fishing and even water skiing. There are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages, for eating out, as well as our on-site table d’hôtes. For self catering provisions:- The nearest bakery, butchers and general store is at Crevant, just 6 minutes by car. Aigurande is the nearest town around 7km away with supermarkets, pharmacy etc and on Friday mornings, a vibrant market. La Chatre is the next bigger town with medieval roots - approximately 20km away with a wider choice of supermarkets and other shops. There’s also a fabulous market on Saturday mornings. For your convenience, we also stock some essential items at reception and there are fresh growing herbs at your kitchen/dining gazebo There are lots of walks and good cycling in the immediate vicinity, however, to go further afield, your own transport is required. Free parking on site is available for one car per tent Optional delicious breakfast baskets are available to order - select from a wide choice of local and organic produce. Picnic lunches and barbecue packs are also available to order as well as campfire treats There are also some essential provisions available from reception, as well as cold drinks and ice lollies. We have a licenced table d’hôtes on site. We serve a three or four course evening meal a few times a week in our rustic candlelit dining barn. Booking is essential. We also have tandem bike hire on site for low impact and super fun exploring of the beautiful and tranquil local area. There is a small plunge pool on site with sun lougers and parasols - its open May to end of September. Bed linen, towels and pool towls are included in the room rate. Please bring beach towels for teips to the lake or you can hire them with a parosol for the day to take with you.
