The bedroom is a clean and sunny room. Free WiFi accessible in the house and in the courtyard. Complimentary continental breakfast is served in the courtyard or dining room. Cooked breakfast is offered for an extra 6€. Evening meals are from 12€. The bed is a small double ideally suitable for a single person. Travel cot for baby is also available. The guest bathroom is across the hallway. We're only 2km from the Canal du Midi, dog friendly and secure bike parking. Tourouzelle is a quiet village, surrounded by vineyards. We are fortunate to have a post office, a degustation, a village shop and a café/bar. We are close to the River Aude (great for fishing) and the Canal du Midi. Only 45 minutes from the beach. One hour from Carcassonne and half an hour from Narbonne. We’re in the Minervois wine region, but very close to the Corbiéres wine region too and surrounded by the Cathar castles. Great base for sightseeing, birdwatching, photography, fishing, cycling and canoeing. Guests can use the: *Art Nouveau lounge/dining room, *Garage/library, *Courtyard (also used for aperos & meals) *and the downstairs cloakroom. *There is also a washing machine that can be used for 3€ Simon and Wendy live at the property and enthusiastically share their knowledge of the local area. They will answer any questions you may have. There is also a large, purple folder that contains leaflets and lots of information on places to visit. For more information before your visit, during, or after, they can be contacted by phone, email, messages or via social media. Tourouzelle is a very friendly village. Our French neighbours always say 'Bonjour!' and 'Ça va?'. We have a few English, Dutch, Belgian, German and American neighbours too! The beautiful, old houses in village are made from local stone. Opposite Maison du Coquelicot there is a narrow passage way that meanders between the houses and up to the impressive Church of Notre-Dame and à lovely view of the village rooftops! We have two shops, a seasonal fruit producer, à post office, à café and two hairdressers, oh and how could I forget....about six wine producers who offer dégustations (wine tasting). We are surrounded vineyards, forests and garrigues. We offer guided walks to explore and learn the local history. Lac de Jouarres is only 4km with it's beach and café. The Mediterranean is just 37km away...great for a day out! 🚲We now have bicycles and e-bikes for day hire...explore our beautiful area! 🚘 Parking is available on the street outside Maison de Coquelicot. 🚲 Motorbikes and bicycles can be left secure, overnight, in the old garage, now library! 🚄 Trains arrive at Lézignan Corbières...please let us know if you would like to be collected. ✈ Local airports are Beziers, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Perpignan and Toulouse; where hire cars can be booked. 🚍 There are two bus services in the village...07h00 and 18h00. 🌻 However, there are beautiful chemins, off road tracks and quiet country roads. The scenery is stunning for walking and cycling. 🚲 The Canal du Midi is only 2km down the road, with towpaths for cycling from one village to the next...with lots of cafés, restaurants and châteaux.... 🚲 Please let us know if you would like to hire some bikes. 🚲 We now have bicycles and e-bikes for day hire...explore our beautiful area! 👨‍🍳 We are able to provide evening meals for Vegan, Vegetarian and Carnivores. 🍷We can help you to arrange wine tastings.
