"An island in Ghent, sleeping on the water!" Are you looking for something unique on the water, a touch of history touch combined with view on the 'Handelsdok' - in full development. 'Helena's Cabin' is the former skipper accomodation & is smaller sister of 'Helena's Boathouse'. Besides visiting Ghent, in our B&B you can cosily browse through the many art books or relax with a good read. You can also enjoy a range of fine wines. Enjoy on and off the water! #sleepbetteronthewater * Upstairs in the wheelhouse you have a small kitchennette, ideal to warm up small dishes or to make a nice breakfast. There is a fridge, 1 hotplate and coffee (nespresso)/tea. * Downstairs in the cabin you have a cozy living room with a comfortable closet bed and a bathroom alcove with a lovely bath. * Outside, on the aft deck you can enjoy the sun and people strolling by. * The wheelhouse is accessible via a separate entrance. * In the summer you can use our kayak. 'HELENA's Cabin is located in the future neighbourhood 'De Nieuwe Dokken' (The New Docks) in the city’s harbour with the concrete plant and the cranes as historical beacons, nearby Dampoort station and close to the beauty of the Centre of Ghent. 1 KAYAK: We've kayaks that you can use to enjoy the neighbourhood or during the week you can paddle to the otherside of the dock, NOAH is our eventspace on another barge. 2 WALK: When you walk over the pedestrian bridge (Bataviabrug) it's just a 10-15 minutes walk to the beautiful city centre of Ghent. 3 BIKE: Ghent is also a real biker's city, you can rent out bikes at the ‘Dampoort’ station. 4 TRAM: 5-10 minutes walk to the tram stop a the corner of the ‘Sleepstraat’ 5 TRAIN: ‘Dampoort’ railway station, gives you a good base if you want to make day trips to other cities in Belgium. Antwerp, Brussels, Bruges or Ostend are just 30/40 minutes away by train.
