Come and enjoy Somerset and a stay in this cool and comfortable one bedroom Summerhouse. On the doorstep of Glastonbury with panoramic views of Glastonbury Tor and the surrounding countryside. A garden to laze around in too! The Summerhouse offers a light and contemporary living space. All year round it is a refuge away from the busy-ness of life. It is set within a garden adjoining open countryside and outdoor seating allows you to enjoy coffee in the sunshine under the willow, a quiet read and summertime meals al fresco. From the garden there are sunsets over the famous Glastonbury Tor and in the Autumn there are misty mornings to view from the warmth of the living area. The property has underfloor heating so it is a cosy retreat even in Winter and has proved popular for short breaks away when the days are drawing in. Guests enjoy full access to all the outside space and there is plenty of parking room. There are lovely country walks from the doorstep and a generous garden to sit in and enjoy. All access is on level ground, both inside and outside the property, and though there is one step up at the entrance to The Summerhouse a ramp can be provided for wheelchair users. I live nearby and happy to lend support, offer local knowledge - though at the same time fully appreciate and respect guests privacy. There is a wealth of things to see and do in the area, whether it be the city life of Bath and Bristol, with the cathedral city of Wells on your doorstep, or the quieter interests of the beautiful surrounding countryside, offering lots of walking and cycling opportunities. There are a number of National Trust properties nearby and Nature Reserves with an abundance of bird and wildlife. There are places of historical interest and the stunning Jurassic coastline of Dorset to visit as well as the seaside towns from Minehead to Weston-super-Mare along the Bristol Channel. There is Cheddar famed for its caves and for the magnificent Cheddar Gorge and the less well known Burrington Combe and Deer Leap close to Priddy village. Cider making and basketry, from locally grown willow, are traditional crafts, and the area is home to many artists and craftsmen who showcase their work, often exhibiting in the annual Somerset Art Week held over two weeks in the Autumn. November is carnival time - one of the largest carnivals in Europe - and in December there are a growing number of Christmas markets to visit - If you are travelling without a car and so relying on public transport - The Summerhouse is very close to a bus route and the bus stop just a couple of hundred yards from the property. The nearest railway station is Castle Cary - a twenty minute drive away. The nearest airport is Bristol - about a 50 minute drive. Car hire is available at this airport. The Summerhouse is a wonderfully tranquil spot even during the annual Glastonbury Festival, which usually takes place around the last weekend in June. If you are not a festival goer it is a good idea to avoid visiting the area at this time!
