Barn Annex for 2@Chapel Farmhouse Abergavenny
Charming, modern self contained property, perfect for a stay in the beautiful Welsh countryside. The property was recently converted from an old barn and is light and airy with underfloor heating. Views of the Brecon Beacons can be seen from the property which is in walking distance of the town centre and station too. It's a perfect location for walking, cycling and experiencing all the delights of Monmouthshire and beyond. The Old Barn is a light contemporary space comprising an ensuite bedroom with wet room and a dual aspect kitchen/dining/sitting room with bifold doors opening onto a courtyard with outdoor sitting area. The kitchen has a combi microwave, fridge, small induction hob, sink, etc and outside there is a shared BBQ. The bedroom has a superking sized bed that can be split into 2 single beds if required. There is underfloor heating. Guests are welcome to explore the old orchard and sit by the large wildlife pond and enjoy the free range hens and wonderful mountain views. Conversion of the rooms has recently been completed and please note that we are still landscaping around the property to complete the courtyard with a rainwater pool, prairie and small walled gardens that was previously pigsties. There is another room (see separate listing) that is let out that is next to the Old Barn and can be rented with it to form a 4 person property. Please see the separate listing for that. We can offer secure storage for bikes and parking on site. This is a self contained annex adjacent to our home. Check in is via the key box but we are here if you have questions or want help with what to see and do in the area, maintaining social distancing in accordance with government guidance. You are welcome to share the old orchard with us. Abergavenny is a bustling market town famous for its Food Festival in September and is ideally located for the many walking and arts festivals in the area. The Green Man festival is a 15 minute drive away and the Hay Literary Festival is 45-60 minutes. Our 'local' is the Sugarloaf Vineyard where you can enjoy local wine and cheese with spectacular views. We are happy to suggest local walks or gardens to visit. We are located on the Western edge of Abergavenny, within a 30 minute walk of the station and 15 minutes from shops and restaurants. At the same time we are on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the footpath up the Sugarloaf in a quiet location surrounded by sheep and horses. There is a whole network of footpaths within walking distance including the very beautiful St Mary's Vale.
