Penlowen Polperro - eco friendly with sea views
This newly renovated modern property offers the ease of onsite parking, coastline views and the comfort of great WiFi, a smart TV and a logburner. Penlowen (run by myself, a marine biologist and my musician husband) provides affordable eco-friendly holiday accommodation for people who wish to enjoy Cornwall's coastline and gorgeous oldy-worldy village of Polperro. Penlowen is a newly renovated property with great WiFi, coastline views, a generous open plan living area and onsite parking. We value hospitality and personal touches are important to us. The living accommodation is light, airy and clean with fresh flowers. For chilly days or after a long walk there is a wall hanging wood burner for that extra cosy feel. To make the most of the sea views, the accommodation is upside down with open plan living area, bedrooms, loo and kitchen on the first floor and the main bathroom downstairs. As we are at the top of the hill, we have wonderful coastline views. Through the large patio door in the open plan living area you can look out to sea and enjoy watching the changes and moods of the water all day long. There is a smart television and the WiFi is good so streaming TV and Netflix is available. From the entrance hallway there is access to a communal hallway which can be used to store cases etc and where you will also find a bookshelf, well stocked with books, games and things to do. There is also a pair of binoculars for endless sea watching. As holidays can be an expensive time, we also provide a variety of buckets, spades, boogie boards, tents and wet suits which you are welcome to use on your visits to the beach. Penlowen is easily accessible by car with space in our gated courtyard for two cars. This is a rarity in Polperro as many holiday cottages in the village can only offer parking in the car park and not immediately outside the property. If you are interested in longer or winter stays then please contact me to discuss. There is access to a large garden with a dining area. If you wish, it is just 5 mins walk to the cliff path where you can sit on the bench to enjoy the view before walking another 10 minutes down into Polperro or Talland. As we live next door we are available to answer questions and provide local knowledge. We are also available to chat if visitors would like to learn to speak English more fluently. Polperro is a historic fishing village which offers a wealth of pubs, restaurants and cafe's. It is well known to attract artists and Gina's art gallery and the Arts Foundation are well worth a visit. There is an annual music festival and the pubs regularly host live music. Polperro crosses the south west coastal path and is a great location to access private coves and coastal walks. If you wish to explore the coastline, then why not pick up a bus from outside the door and go to the local coastal villages between Looe and Fowey. You could walk to Polruan (3hr walk) get the water taxi to Fowey and then return by bus. Alternatively there are trains from Looe (4 miles away). Why not indulge in the culinary treats of coastal restaurants such as The View at Whitsand Bay, Fifteen at Watergate Bay or Rick Stein's seafood restaurant in Padstow? or order a selection of local organic produce to be delivered before you arrive? If you fancy indulging yourself, why not book an aromatherapy massage or a facial in advance? We can also offer guided rocky shore activities, as well as access to the music room. If you fancy getting out on the water then there are boat trips from Polperro and watersports and snorkeling in Talland and Looe.
