Woodstown Strand, an unspoilt beach surrounded by private woodland is 800m from the stables. Dunmore East, Tramore and Waterford City are all within easy distance. Parking on site. The beach is located on the banks of the wide estuary carved by the Rivers Suir, Nore and Barrow making it a sheltered spot. This also means the sand slopes very gently and when the tide is out a large flat beach is exposed. Woodstown Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the area, particularly with families. It is a great spot for kids and is ideal for picnics. There is plenty of good walking here; either along the beach or in the countryside beyond. The ancient Harristown passage tomb is also situated nearby. We have plenty of on-site parking. You can walk 800m (about 10 mins) or drive to the local beach which is truly unspoiled and serviced for lunch or dinner by a wonderful pub - The Saratoga bar and restaurant. Jaybees garage is a short drive away where you will find their famous Lemon Drizzle and Carrot Cakes and other wonderful, freshly baked cakes and breads. Scones, brown soda bread, and wheat bread is baked fresh every morning in their in-house bakery.
