Our home has been described as very unique, warm, and welcoming. Wood and stone floors grace this space as well as hand-made updates to the home. Southwestern and rustic style with a contemporary style. Tucked away in the corner of the home is this cozy bedroom. With a computer, office desk and chair, guests can catch up on email or watch a movie online. The bathroom, just down the hall, is shared and conveniently located. The television is in a shared space with Netflix and amazon prime available. NOTE: Beginning October 1, 2018, this listing will have a 30 day minimum stay. Fairfax County has changed its regulations on short term stays, which has greatly limited my ability to offer short-term bookings (less than 30 days). If you have questions, message me directly. The front door is equipped with a keyless deadbolt entry. Upon confirmation of reservation, the code will be accessible on this listing page. Keyed room access is provided. If the keys are lost, a replacement fee of $10. will be charged. We would ask that if you are arriving after 10 PM that you message us and make arrangements. Shared access to the bathroom, kitchen, two televisions, laundry, and outdoor deck and fireplace is allowed upon request. Kitchen use is as follows: Guest room refrigerators are provided. All personal food items should be store in guest rooms. After kitchen use, all dishes should be washed, dried and put away. If guests use the common dishwasher it is expected dishes will be put away if found clean. Cast iron skillets should be rinsed, dried with paper towel and place on stove top. Oil with paper towel. Do not use soap. There is an espresso machine on site. Only the host can use it unless guests are trained. If you choose to drink the coffee regularly, we ask that you contribute to the coffee find as we don’t skimp on quality. All uses of shared spaces should be left as you found them. Wash and dry dishes and wipe all surfaces with disinfectant immediately after use. Although we are busy, we love to be able to share a cup of coffee with our guests and make ourselves available to help in any way. This neighborhood is super quiet and safe. The homes were built in 1969 and owners are proud of keeping their properties well-maintained. Extensive shopping and eateries are within 3 miles of my place, as well as walking paths and parks. An Uber to Dulles airport takes about 15-20 minutes at a cost of about $15-20. Additional rooms are available on another listing. Simply click on my profile picture and all the listings can be viewed. Additional people can be accommodated, however they will sleep in a common area on a futon. Maximum additional people depends on the availability of my other bookings. Good morning. It's been a while since I updated some of my listings so after reviewing them, I needed to send a message. I find that clear communication is vital to having a good hosting/guest experience. The following edits have been made to each listing we offer. Kitchen: - The kitchen is a shared space. Personal items, food & dishes, should be stored in your room. Refrigerators are provided in rooms. If a freezer is needed, one is provided in the garage. - After the kitchen is used, all dishes and pans should be washed, dried, and returned to the cabinet. Cast iron pans are rinsed (no soap), wiped clean with paper towel, dried, and then oiled with paper towel to maintain seasoning. - If using dishwasher, all parties should participate in putting away dishes when clean. - Especially with COVID-19, all surfaces should be wiped with disinfectant and kept clean. - Items on the kitchen bar are shared. All other items are by request. - Espresso maker and grinder are for host use only. Trash collection: Mondays Trash/Recycling: Thursday Cans are located in front of the garage. Cleaning: No cleaning fee is charged at any of my listings. Maintaining a clean environment in personal and shared spaces is expected by each guest. A monthly cleaning service is provided to do deep cleaning. This normally occurs on the third Thursday of each month. COVID-19: It is expected that each guest is maintaining proper protocol with social distancing and PPE (masks, washing hands) while not in the home. The safety of each guest is vital to building a trusting community. Provided breakfast: - Light, continental type breakfast items are provided on the bar which include bars and fruit. Occasionally, baked items will be available. If you have an item to share simply place it on the bar. - Hot tea and bottled water is available at all times. If drinking coffee regularly, we ask that you contribute to the coffee fund. We buy only the best beans! Allergens: - Please minimize use of heavy perfumes and other scented items due to allergies of host and consideration of others. Pets on site: - There are two chocolate labs who live on the property. - They are very friendly and not loud. We love when you enjoy them. Sunday mornings: From 10:30-12noon, my husband, who is a pastor, conducts Blue Church on Zoom. You are welcome to participate if you like. We would love to know an approximate time you will plan to arrive so if you can send a message when you know your plans, we would appreciate it! - Free high speed FIOS internet - Check in after 3pm, unless prearranged with host. - Check out before 12 noon - Free street parking - Linens provided. -Long term guests will need to launder their own linens, change their own beds and clean their bathroom. Clean sheets and towels will be available. - Television in shared space - Privileges to use kitchen, deck, and laundry available. - Provided continental breakfast includes whole fruit, bars of some type and the occasional baked good. Other preferences are at the guests discretion. - Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. During quiet hours, we respectfully ask that you not use a TV, computer with speakers, have phone conversations, or music without the use of earbuds. - Multiple rooms are rented at this property and it is expected that guests will respect others need for quiet. - All rooms have doors that lock to secure valuable while you are out having fun! - Items that are left at our property will be returned to you at a minimum cost of $20.
