Cosy Shepherds Hut at The Mitre Inn

The Shepherds Hut is positioned within the grounds of The Mitre Inn and has lovely views across the valley of Sandford Orcas. The village is very peaceful and the location is perfect if you enjoy listening to birdsong in the mornings There is a kingsize bed and 2 reclining chairs Tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge Within the hut is a shower, toilet and handbasin. There is a bar b que and storage box for outdoor wear We have a fenced garden Well behaved dog owners are welcome I The shepherds hut is in a secluded position when the pub is closed and it is open traditional hours throughout the year There are many attractions Haynes Motor Museum, Stourhead Gardens, Fleet Air Museum,Montacute House, Sherborne Abbey The Jurassic coast is an hours drive as is Weymouth The garden is fenced and gated However during opening hours the general public have access to the garden The pub is now open and we serve to the tables Booking is recommended if you would like to eat However we have a hatch to the garden where we serve drinks and food to eat in our marquee The caravan adjacent to the hut has a fridge cooker and dining area therefore you can self cater The pub is open for drinks only on Monday evening We are currently closed on Tuesday but Food is available Wednesday to Saturday lunch and evening Sunday lunchtime We can be contacted on (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Or (Email hidden by Airbnb) Please ask for Allen or Cheryl We are 3.5 miles from Sherborne in the village of Sandford Orcas You do need to have transport as the nearest town is 3.5 miles which is Sherborne There is no public transport to the village The Shepherd’s Hut connects it’s inhabitants with nature You may hear the owls at night or the dawn chorus If you enjoy seeing the stars then this is the place for you
