Cosy village cottage
Our comfortable family home is cosy yet spacious, set in the heart of the pretty village but tucked away in a tranquil row of 3 cottages. There's a tidal creek, great for swims, picnics, quay jumping and sailing. The welcoming village pub is just a couple of minutes on foot, serving excellent food. The village is in a superb location for getting around Cornwall. Our cottage is a family home, tranquil, homely and comfortable. We would like you to make yourselves at home and feel at ease while enjoying our beautiful county. The room available is one double bedroom with a superking-sized bed and a calming view over the fields and creek. 100% cotton bed linen and towels provided. The kitchen is roomy and well equipped with an electric oven and back door opening out into a small garden equipped with table and chairs for outside eating. Both front and back gardens are peaceful sun traps and get the sun at different times of the day so there is always somewhere to sit outside. The pretty front garden looks out over the village - the terrace is blocked off at the end so is not a thoroughfare; there are just 3 houses so you can park outside the house. The living room is peaceful and bright with two sofas, a wood burner for cooler nights (hopefully not needed in the summer but is easy to use) and a large TV and dvd player with netflix. The bathroom is well presented with a good shower, bath and constant hot water. There is one other living room space to spread out in. There is a washing machine available. Please don't expect the blandness of a holiday home; this is a family home, comfortable and welcoming in a very child friendly and wonderful location, very much in the original ethos of airbnb. So the sofa sags a little and you have to wash your own dishes! But you will have a calm and comfortable night's sleep, the village is friendly and welcoming and it is a perfect area to explore Cornwall from. We use any airbnb money to improve the house. The double bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom and garden. We will greet you or arrange for friends to welcome you. We can provide lots of info and ideas for you and have lots of chat before you arrive. We have lovely neighbours who will help you with anything needed if we are not nearby. You are welcome to use cooking basics such as oil and herbs to save you getting these in. Our pretty village is friendly and pretty. The tidal creek is great to swim in with a quay for jumping in, kayaking, sailing and crabbing. The pub is welcoming with a varied and locally sourced menu. There is an excellent shop, newsagents, off licence and butchers in the next village. We are set in a perfect location for exploring Cornwall - the surfy waves of the rugged north coast or the calmer waters of the south. There are hourly buses to Truro or Falmouth during the day and evening and a train station to Truro or Falmouth in the next village. Being situated between Truro and Falmouth, the wilder, surfy North Coast beaches such as beautiful St Agnes, Crantock or Perranporth or the calmer beaches of the South coast are easy to get to by car - a trip on the King Harry Ferry over to the Roseland Peninsula is fun for children. The National Trust's Trelissick Garden is very close; Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens are close as well. There is a superb coast to coast heritage cycle trail with bike hire, cafes and pubs en route beginning at Devoran and going all the way to Portreath on the North Coast along the old tram line. . We have two very affectionate, home-loving cats, Fox and Cookie who love meeting all visitors.
