Le Moulin - Classic French water mill for everyone

The Water Mill sits on the Argentor River in Charente. It's been converted for simple comfort for the perfect French holiday. It sleeps 14 with ease. The mill race runs under the house and the river winds gently through the garden and the acres of fields and woods. It has a large outdoor terrace for eating, relaxing and watching the wildlife and a field kitchen with large barbecue, prep table and fire pit. Local markets, wild swimming, canoeing, cycling, excellent local restaurants are nearby. Guests have access to the surrounding gardens, woodland walks, fields and river. Kids can play in the woods and treehouses, in the rivers and on the trampoline. (Under 10’s should be supervised). There is a full field kitchen, fire pit and barbecue up at the old sawmill for wild cooking. It's the perfect place for an outdoor French holiday. Our housekeeper is available for assistance throughout your stay. This is a beautiful rural area, full of fields, rivers and forests, delightful villages, local fetes and wonderful food and wine. Le Moulin sits on the famous pilgrimage route de Santiago de Compostela and there are many other formal and informal walks in the area. Le Moulin is in a rural location between Nanteuil-en-Vallée, a village pittoresque with an Abbey and 2 excellent restaurants, and Champagne Mouton which has a superb boulangerie, a Carrefour, chemist and petrol station. Ruffec is a bigger town 20 km away with the full selection of markets, shops and activities. You will need a car and/or bicycles. The mill is a rural retreat in an unpopulated part of France, the nearest village is 2km away and the nearest bigger town is 15km. Just to note that we supply bath mats, hand towels and bath towels. All bedding is also provided. We supply logs for the fire from our coppiced woodlands.
