Countryside cottage in beautiful rural location
Nestled in the award winning village of Barley, Pendle, this 400 year old cottage recently refurbished but retaining all its Old World charm. This stunning cottage offers a cosy sitting room complete with open fire. New fitted kitchen, a snug king sized bed with beautiful views over fields and farm land. An attractive enclosed garden and private parking also provided. Located in the centre of the village a short stroll from two excellent pubs and the stunning Pendle hill. The cottage is located in the centre of Barley a short stroll away are 2 excellent pubs and a small cafe open all year round. In the other direction there are stunning walks around Black Moss reservoir and popular Akin woods sculpture trail, which offers captivating views of Pendle hill only a few 100ms outside of the village. Barley is at the heart of Forest of Bowland which has been mentioned multiple times in Countryfile recently due to its staggering beauty. It is all easily accessible to walkers and cyclists and for those in need of a bigger walk Pendle hill is but a stones throw away. The villages of Roughlee, Downham and Newchurch are all a 5 minute drive. No matter whether your a walking enthusiast or novice there are walks to suit everyone or if you fancy a quiet weekend beside an open log fire this is the place for you! Due to the high demand of parking spaces in this village you will have access to on street parking directly outside the cottage. During your stay there is an information handbook which will give you an idea of all the local attractions and must see's during your time with us. We live just next door so if there was any issues at all we would be more than happy to help! The garden is a shared facility with the family. Unfortunately there is no local shop, the nearest shop is in the next village however you could always do your shop online before your arrive and we would be happy to collect it.
