17th Century Magical Cottage Mendip Hills Nr Bath
My place is close to Bath. Bristol. Wells. Glastonbury. Bath & West Showground. Cheddar Caves. Longlete Safari Park. Bristol Airport. National Trust Houses. Our self-catering holiday cottage is 17th Century and quite unique and full of character. With low beams in the sitting room, warm and cosy in the colder months. Light and airy in the summer time. It's a joyful place which will charm and delight you. Sorry we are unable to make our cottage accessible to any one infirm owing to its age. The entrance in via the conservatory has a very deep step, the floors have steps here and there, some doors are narrow and we have low ceilings and beams. The cottage was built in 1640 and there is not a lot we can do to help make it accessible to anyone infirm. So sorry. All of the garden can be available to guests. We are happy to let you use all the garden and the playhouses but make sure little children are supervised. We have steep stairs in two of the play houses. There are water features in the garden please be aware of these also we have a pond on our Green NO UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN IN THIS AREA. We also have steps in the garden and be carefull near the greenhouse. We live next door and are happy to give help where needed. We would like to get to known you but if you want privacy we will respect that. We sometimes have neighbours sheep on our Green beyond our garden, please note signs on the gates to keep the gates closed. Also be aware we have a small pond on our Green beyond the garden which is gated. Binegar is a small village with an active community. In our village hall we have; cubs, scouts, beavers, keep fit, marshal arts, Women's Institute, Knit & Natter, Welcome Club, Toddler Group, and lots more. Binegar is on the bus route 173 to and from Bath and Wells with a bus stop opposite our Green (day time buses every hour). We have plenty of parking for 2 cars in our drive or on our Green for larger vehicles. Bus stops are opposite to Bath or Wells for fine shopping. Five miles drive to Bath & West Show Ground. Glastonbury Festival not far to drive if you don't want to ruff it. Train stations: Bath Spa 15 miles, Castle Cary 8 miles, Bristol Temple Meads 18 miles. Lulsgate Bristol Airport 20-25 mins drive to us; Directions can be sent. Lulsgate Bristol Airport is an easy drive with Car Hire facilities. I am happy to send you a route to get to us, its about 20 - 25 minutes through the charming Barrington Combe (Rock of Ages cleft for me) famous hymn: inspired by the composer sheltering under these cliffs.
