La Ganne gites -L'Hibou

My place is close to Duras. You’ll love La Ganne because of its quiet rural location and the views from the garden. We have two gites here, both under the roof of our large former manor house. Each gite is independent and can accomodate 2 adults. We do not cater for babies or young children. In summer, we have an unheated chlorine swimming pool with south facing terrace to sunbathe on. We have free Wifi and satellite TV in the gite. There is patio furniture and a BBQ for you to use. Originally these rooms were part of the workshops at La Ganne. The gite, L'Hibou has a mezznine bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet. Downstairs, there's a separaate toilet alongside the kitchen/dining space with doors opening onto a gravel patio area with patio furniture - ideal for a morning cup of coffee outdoors! Gravel path runs the full length of the barn and house from the car parking to the gite entrance. This garden area with barbecue, washing line, lawn is just for our gite guests and is on the north side of our property. Guests are invited to use the swimming pool and terrace in the main garden, which is south facing and may explore the rest of our garden too. We live permanently in the main house which we are renovating so are on hand if anything crops up - although most of the time you won't know that we're here! We can offer advice about local places of interest but please note we are english and don't yet speak very good french - we're learning! We have great views from the south facing terrace - we're very quiet and usually the only traffic is a passing tractor to the prune orchards or corn fields. Note that the gites are on the north side of our property and do not overlook the pool. There is no public transport although bicycles can be hired in Duras. You will certainly need a car or bike to get to our nearest shop 5km away! We have a second gite also newly refurbished for 2 guests so there are never more than 4 guests at La Ganne. Our guests are for adults only we do not allow babies , young children or pets to stay in our gites. Our pool is only 110cm deep , great for a splash or just to relax in on a hot day but really not suitable for serious swimming, diving or other water sports.
