Built in 1851 by renowned Victorian architect SS Teulon, the Grange is a former rectory situated at the heart of the small village of Grendon, Northants. Its Coach House has been beautifully converted to provide a detached two-bedroomed apartment. The Coach House is full of character and provides accommodation for groups up to five people. There are two bedrooms: a large master-bedroom with a king-size bed; and a second with a double bed. Between the bedrooms is an open plan area which contains a sofa-bed. The bathroom has a bath with shower above, WC and hand-basin; toiletries are provided. Iron and ironing board are also provided. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave and kettle; there is a farmhouse table and chairs, which can also be used as a workspace when you’re not eating. The sitting room contains sofas for five and a selection of books and board games. Outside, there is seating and a table, as well as parking. The Coach House is separate from the main house with its own entrance. We are happy to offer advice on what there is to do locally. Grendon is a small village on the edge of the Castle Ashby estate, about seven miles east of Northampton and five miles south of Wellingborough. The surrounding villages have a host of excellent pubs. Convenience stores are in the neighbouring villages of Wollaston or Earls Barton. Further afield, Olney (to the south) is a beautiful small town with shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs; and Wellingborough and Northampton both have everything you could possibly need. There is a host of activities locally: sailing and other watersports; fishing; golf (several local courses); walking. For motor racing, we are well located for both Silverstone (about 25 mins) and Santa Pod (about 15 mins). The village has a limited bus service but it if you do not have a car, there are several local taxi firms. We ask that you let us know when you plan to arrive and we can normally be flexible; check out is 12 noon.
