Kouspades is a picturesque traditional village located 26km south of Corfu Town. It hosts a number of hotels and tavernas, including Boukari fish restaurant, recently featured in Rick Stein's BBC 'Mediterranean Escapes'. Located on the beautiful Boukari beach the restaurant offers stunning views of the sea, especially at sunset. Boukari is a pebble beach, 800m away from the villa. This is the main beach in the area and is famous for its crystalline and shallow waters suitable for children. It attracts visitors seeking a relaxing and peaceful holiday. Natural shade is also provided by the olive groves that surround it. 3km away is the resort of Messonghi. Further along from Boukari can be found Petriti, a larger fishing harbour. The road along the sea is an excellent hiking trail. Above Kouspades can be found the village of Chlomos a destination worth exploration with its cobbled streets, fantastic views and traditional coffee shops and taverna. 4km to the west is the very long sandy beach of St Georgios. 7km to the southwest is the beach of Issos, Agios Georgios where filming for Roger Moore’s 'Your Eyes Only' Bond took place, with Korrision Lake, Corfu's biggest lagoon just behind the dunes. 18km north of the apartment is Achilleion Palace another 'Your Eyes Only' filming location. Whilst 25km north is the Vlacherna Monastery, Mon Repos Palace (Prince Phillips birthplace, now an archaeological museum) and the Church of Saint Spiridon. Theotoky Estate vineyard and Aqualand Corfu Water Park are located 35km north. About 45km north is the Paleokastritsa Monastery, Angelokastro castle ruins and the beaches of Paleokastritsa, Pelekas, and Mirtiotissa. Kouspades is easily reached by taxi from the airport. Visiting Corfu Town is possible by regular public transport from Messonghi. A car is advisable to explore the local area and the rest of Corfu. Daily boat trips are available; as are private car, motorcycles, scooters and boat hire from Boukari village. Complimentary bicycles are available for apartment guests to use at their own risk and discretion. Helmets are supplied.
