Shorts Farmhouse

This homely family house is situated in a rural hamlet close to a working dairy farm. It is within easy reach of local beaches and tourist spots: Clovelly, Westward Ho! Tarka Trail, Bude, Bideford, Lundy Island, The Big Sheep Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, (three with double beds and one twin room) 2 modern bathroom/shower rooms ( 1 is en-suite but also can be accessed directly off the landing). Downstairs is a lovely formal sitting room with a log burner and a TV and DVD player, farmhouse kitchen and a dining area with large table for all those meals together. This room also has a TV and lots of games. There is also a downstairs cloakroom and a separate large utility room with a washer and dryer. Guests will have access to the whole Farmhouse and also its garden. Outside there is a cosy garden to the front, and ample parking space at the back as well as a secluded seating area. The parking is accessed via a farm track. You will have the property to yourselves. Although I am not on-site I can be easily contacted in case of and difficulties or emergencies. I have a number of people locally who are able to help in such situations. We would respectfully ask you not to stray beyond the boundary of the property into any farm buildings or the farm opposite. The property is situated in a small hamlet. It is a close knit community of very friendly people. There is a working dairy farm opposite so there is plenty of opportunity to see farm animals in the fields around the property. You will need a car to get to the property and to travel around during your stay. The the nearest shop/pub/ restaurant is 1-2 miles away. If you are staying longer than a week we can arrange for a mid stay clean and change of linen. All beds have electric blankets. There is a multi fuel burner in the living room for extra heat. A complimentary starter pack of logs and coal will be made available and extra logs are available in a container outside the property. We would ask that you replenish the outside supply so that it is kept well stocked for other guests. Bags of logs can be purchased at a reasonable price from the local garden centre.
