The Lakeside Lodge

Our outhouse at the back of our garden has been lovingly transformed into a cosy, modern studio apartment. With underfloor heating, large sofa's & kitchen /breakfast area it has everything you want for a short or long stay! Separate entrance also makes it private so you can come and go as you wish! We look forward to welcoming all guests and travellers alike! Inspired by our other AirB&B listings we wanted to transform and make use of the purpose built annex at the bottom of our garden. You won't really find a more superb location, which offers a peaceful, relaxing getaway in one of the most desirable locations in Cardiff, yet only a short trip to enjoy what the City Centre has to offer. (8 minutes by car/taxi and one stop by train). We are situated on Cardiff's prestigious Lake Road West, a unique location with the Lake having recently been awarded the prestigious 'Green Flag' award. We have hosted many guests in our main home but this annex gives people the opportunity to have their own base with a private entrance. A perfect location for trips to concerts, sporting events at the Principality stadium, for parents to visit their children at Cardiff University and also work trips to the nearby University Hospital of Wales (a 10 min walk) or of course the City Centre. There is an open plan living space with a super comfortable King bed, lounge area with "L-shaped" sofa, kitchen and breakfast bar area with sink, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge freezer. All linen & towels are provided, as are light refreshments. We will be contactable / on site in the main house during your stay at the other end of the garden. You can also just text or call us if you wish. We are very proud to live in one of the grandest houses on Lake Road West. One of only a handful of detached houses on the road and ours being the only one of its kind with its impressive stone detailing and balcony over looking the lake. Roath Lake and Park covers 130 acres in total with the Lake being 30 acres. As well as the Lake there is a children's park, a boating house (hiring out rowing boats and pedalo's in the summer) a coffee house, ornamental garden's with a conservatory, a recreational grounds including tennis courts and a bowling lawn. It is very popular with joggers all times of the day and an absolutely beautiful place to live so close to the Capital City of Wales. Parking is free and plentiful on the road outside the house. The city centre is a straightforward 7-8 minutes away by car or taxi. Buses run up to every 20 minutes from the opposite side of the lake, and the trains run from "Heath High Level" (a 10 min walk away) which can get you to the city centre in only 1 stop (3-4 minutes). The lodge is accessed via the side path to the main house from Lake Road West. Key is available via a lockbox on the side of the house.
