Private luxury log cabin in tranquil riverside setting. Newly built with 2 en-suite king size bedrooms, large open plan living/ kitchen area with a fresh Scandi feel. Log burner and bi-fold doors leading out to private patio areas and outdoor fire pit with private parking. The stunning beaches and castles of the Northumberland coast are a 15 minute drive. A wealth of local pubs, cafes and restaurants can be recommend from a 5 minute drive. Master king double can be changed to a twin. We have been awarded as ‘Dark Sky Friendly’ and a ‘Dark Sky Stay & Gaze’ destination by Northumberland Tourism. Private drive way and ample parking. There are 4 stone steps up to the front door of the Lodge. (with handrail to left hand side) There is a ramped paved walkway to the rear of the cabin where access can be made by one smaller step, with advance notice a ramped access into the Lodge via the bi-fold doors can be provided. This must be requested at time of booking and agreed by owner. Karen owns the Mill House Cottage where additional accommodation can be booked for any of your extra visitors during your stay. Due to the requirements of Covid social distancing I will be available via text for any questions or concerns. Please be aware should you become ill or display Covid symptoms during your stay you would be expected to leave the premises in your vehicle and return home. The area of Guyzance is unspoilt, with a wealth of wildlife and fauna. Sit in one of the peaceful corners of cabin grounds listening to fish leaping in the river, watch Buzzards flying overhead and gaze at the dark starry sky at night…then curl up in front of the log burner. The market towns of Alnwick, Morpeth and Rothbury are within 20 minutes. Golf courses to be played at Alnmouth, Warkworth, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Wonderful cycling and walking routes; taking you to the coast and it’s castles, north to Holy Island or inland and the Cheviot Hills. Close to the main North-South East Coast train line, local station being Alnmouth. First bag of hardwood logs and kindling supplied for stove, additional bags available at £5 per bag. Local food stores : Alnwick - M&S Foodhall, Sainsbury and Morrisons. Amble - Morrisons Food deliveries from Sainsbury;Tesco and Morrisons. Breakfast and bakery.... Running (Website hidden by Airbnb) favorite go to for a cooked breakfast...caters for vegan through to full English and all manner of intolerances/allergies. Vegan and gluten free cakes and wonderful afternoon teas. They have premises in Felton and Shilbottle both a short drive of 8 minutes or so. I prefer Shilbottle more roomy. Also does take away/call and collect...closes at 4pm. Restaurants : I can recommend 2 pubs both approximately 8 minutes drive away, The Northumberland Arms in Felton (vegetarian options always available) and The Cook & Barker in Newton on The Moor (have an extensive vegetarian menu), both are very popular. If you like seafood, the award winning Old Boathouse in Amble is excellent, a 15 minute drive, sat by the estuary and does have vegetarian options although they are mainly a seafood restaurant. Open all day. Jaspers in Amble is also getting good reviews from my guests for breakfast and dinner. Heading up the coast or on your way back….The White Swan at Warenford, literally two minutes off A1 at the Lucker turn off, is excellent and very spacious also The Pack Horse at Ellingham is a good spot. If you are heading up to Holy Island or Bamburgh the Jolly Fisherman at Craster is a fantastic location, right by the sea, lunch 11.30-3pm, not possible to make reservations and dinner 5.30 – 9pm. About 30 minutes drive from Mill House. Also The Ship Inn at Low Newton, lunch time only. My favourite restaurant is The Potted Lobster, in Bamburgh. Beaches in Alnmouth does amazing seafood take away....which you can sit by the sea to eat - they provide wooden cutlery and napkins or bring home. Check timings as they tend to close 6.30/7pm. Due to reduced covers and their popularity I would recommend making restaurant reservations.
