Historic villa w/vineyard views Saint Emilion area

Welcome to our home; gateway to the beautiful Saint Emilion Bordeaux wine country. Enjoy a stylish, old world, noble wine villa with authentic French country charm and modern design details and amenities. The house is only 7 min. drive or a quick bike to the famous village of Saint Emilion. The area is surrounded with vineyards, castles, antique shops and wine tasting opportunities. We can also help you with experience upgrades such as: personal chef, driver, private photographer & tours! Our place is a recent family purchase and our new summer home. We have spent the last months learning its quirks and getting it ready for rental so we hope you enjoy our efforts! The house is revealing its charms to us every day and there are always new things to discover. We have found that the summer mornings are crisp with a beautiful light throughout the house. Feel free to move furniture around and make the place feel like home. We usually put the iron table as a breakfast table on the garden side while the picnic table in the kitchen gets moved to the vineyard side for aperitivo and dinner. There are multiple chairs throughout the house that you can move around according to your comfort. We are very open and flexible in that regard and want you to feel completely at ease. In the evenings, there are so many options for gathering spaces. We like to have aperitivo drinks before dinner by the pool or on the side terrace. We tend to eat dinner facing the vines as the light is stunning and the vastness is a great place for children to run free. Feel free to move the umbrellas around as the sun shifts throughout the day. they are heavy but totally portable! The evenings are comfortable and the cross breeze keeps the house cool all night. Our guests are welcome to access the variety of garden and pool games that are tucked away in the chapel. There are floating devices, additional pool chairs, kites, patanque (Boce Balls) as well as a variety of bicycles for all sizes! You will be given both bath towels and pool towels for your comfort. In the living room, you will find a 15th century trunk originally used as a wedding trunk. Inside you will find art supplies and games for all ages to insure cozy evenings with your group. Pull up a chair, open the windows, light some candles and open a great bottle of Saint Emilion for unforgettable moments in the salon. We live in Singapore and have a 6 hour time difference but you are more than welcome to connect with us on social media or simply call us. We have kids so we are always awake! We will also give you a few local emergency contacts for your comfort. Starting 2019, we will have an agency on call as well. Our home is only 1 km from the main road where you will find lovely antique shops and the bakery for your fresh morning bread. This is a perfect opportunity to take a bike and go on a short trip with purpose! The neighbourhood is peppered with vineyards, historic chateaus and wine tasting and dining opportunities. If you have a car, we will recommend great restaurants and trendy spots. We can always help you design your tasting experience as well as organise optional luxuries such as a private chef, daily maid, a full time driver, babysitting, vespas and even personalised photoshoots. We recommend you renting a car (europcar at the Libourne train station) or taking our personal driver service. Bikes are absolutely an option depending on your endurance level (before and after the wine) and they come free with the property. The largest train station near us is 12 minutes away in Libourne but you can also train directly to Saint Emilion just 7 minutes away but you would need to have a taxi to pick you up. We can provide taxi contacts for you. The Domaine de Montvert is an old structure circa 300 years old. Although we have made great strides in bringing it up to date, please remember that you are in a historic country home in wine country. Be gentle. Take a break from the hectic city life and the need for immediate gratification. Enjoy the nature, the slower pace, the intimacy and the nostalgia of french country living and all of its quirks.
