Artist Abbey - private Studio Apartment
We are centrally located in a downtown location on the main street in walking distance of the downtown and Hot Springs district. But the Apartment is tucked in back and is a quiet retreat-like space with simple accommodations, off street parking and nice garden porch and outdoor area. Home cooked meals and special welcome packages, may be available, ask if you are interested. Our large building includes three parts, each with their own entrances. First, with it's entrance on Date Street, is a 2000 sq. ft. Gallery and working studio, called "Artist Abbey". Secondly is our family's home, which has it's doorway on 1st Ave. Thirdly, the Artist Abbey Guest Space, which is reached by a garden walkway from 1st Ave, from the private parking area and has it's own private entrance. The Artist Abbey Gallery will have art and music events on the T or C, "Art Hop" nights throughout the year, on the second Saturday of each month from 6:00pm-9:00pm. The Gallery will also host special community art events, and will be open on some business hours. We hope you will stop by! Covid practices: -Artist Abbey Studio Apartment is aired out for 24 hrs between each guest. -Extra cleaning & sanitizing -Please leave windows and door open when checking out -Outside contact with hosts, 6' distancing with masks This is a private Studio Apartment. Common spaces include the yard that you pass through, but the BnB has a private fenced small yard, as well as a private small screened in porch with 2 chairs. You are also welcome go to the Date Street entrance to see the Artist Abbey Gallery. We live on the property and can be reached by phone. Feel free visit us in the Artist Abbey Gallery, or you may see me out watering the garden! We are in a central location, but still have a peaceful garden feel. You are welcome to rest in the garden here or walk about town. See the "Getting around" section for all the things to do in the area! We are just around the corner, easy walking distance, from the Hot Springs District (with over 10 public bathhouses), shops, thrift shops, El Cortez Movie Theater, The Spaceport and Regional Visitor Center, The Geronimo Museum, T or C Brewery, coffee shops, restaurants, Post Office, Library, tennis courts, dog park, and Ralph Edwards Park on the Rio Grande River. The Ralph Edwards Park has a Farmers Market (from June till the end of October every Sat morning 8am-11:30am), and has a large lawn, picnic tables, playground, skate park and a small pond for fishing. There is some great local hiking and an in-town hike called the "Healing Waters Trail" that goes along the Rio Grande River. Bedroxx Bowling Alley and Point Blanc Winery are half a mile away. Elephant Butte Lake State Park is 4 miles away. Caballo Lake State Park is 16 miles away. Pets welcome! Please give me a heads up and bring or ask for a cover for the couch if your pet likes to sit there. PS, there is a dog park two blocks away!
